MY LEARNING OBJECTIVE FLOWCHART
Whenever I take up a project to learn something new or start working on a new training programme, I make a mental note of all the learning objectives that need to be achieved and then I work towards it. The funda is clear. If you don't have an outlined goal, how are you supposed to reach it? How are you to supposed to know where you stand?
This flowchart has helped me in my endeavors. Hope it helps others too.
1. What is my desired behavior after this learning?
Example: After attending a virtual seminar for,lets say Role of AI in L&D, I am supposed to have a basic idea about the whole topic and I am supposed to relate it with my current work.
2. What are the learning activities that I need to perform?
Example: While pursuing a course on digital marketing, I need to practice the seo techniques and other things. So, I create a dummy website and work on it.
3. What are the conditions under which my newly adapted learning is to be utilized?
Example: I am learning art therapy which I will be doing in my free time. The video editing skills I am trying to master will help me make relevant content for training. So, here I know when to utilize my learning in which condition.
4. What are the standards by which my behavior will be measured?
Example: Did the SEO technique work? Was I happy while creating a new art? Are the videos that I made liked by my boss? If yes, then congratulations to me ! my learning is effective and has added value to me as a person.
If not, then I need to rethink why I started to learn and invest in that particular project at all?
