My Latest Interviews

And what's coming up next week...

Happy weekend!

This week, I released two interviews. The first was my latest podcast episode with Second Life founder Philip Rosedale which you can listen to here. In this interview. Philip shares his childhood dream to create a virtual world where people can come together which he ultimately achieved with Second Life. We discuss the highs and lows, obstacles and wins in the early days of building Second Life as the world’s first virtual world, and the lessons he took to High Fidelity which is his latest company. At High Fidelity, Philip is, again, working on forward-thinking tech, this time focusing on spatial audio and how he can make virtual reality more lifelike.

And the second interview was with Elizabeth Feinler who helped pioneer the Internet which you can read here. It was Elizabeth’s 90th birthday this week, so I thought I would share her incredible story and more about her work with Doug Engelbart, creating what were the forerunners to the internet, as we know it today.

“I am proud to have had a small role in the development of the Internet, a technical phenomenon that has changed the way the world learns and communicates.”

Finally, I wanted to share news of who my Monday interview will be. To celebrate International Women’s Day, I have the hugely inspiring Shellye Archambeau who is an incredible role model to so many. A Silicon Valley leader for over 30 years, Shellye has run startups, is on the Board of several Fortune 500 companies, is a tech advisor and author of two books.

In our interview (subscribe here to be the first to listen), we discuss her childhood and the many obstacles she overcame to achieve huge success - in environments which were not always the most welcoming. And we dig into her book - Unapologetically Ambitious: Take Risks, Break Barriers, and Create Success on Your Own Terms - which I recommend to everyone I know. It’s a great book about how to plan your life so that you get the most out of it - both personally and professionally.

The episode with Shellye gets released on Monday and I will be running a giveaway that day on my Instagram to win a hardcover version of the book. More details to follow on Monday but do follow me there if you are interested in winning a copy.

That’s it from me. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to catch up on my podcast and subscribe here to be the first to hear Shellye’s fantastic episode.

And, as always, thank for your continued support. It means the world to me.
