My Last Day at Disney
Robert Goldberg
Director of Finance, Universal Orlando and Financial Coach at Robert Goldberg Financial Coaching
Today is my last day at Disney. While I shared an email internally here, many of the people I am connected to here on Linked In have become more than just partners in Payments and business, but friends. I wanted to share my letter with you all as well.
Dear Friends and Fellow Cast members
I am certain there are many people who I have forgotten to include in this email because there are so many who have touched my life in this short time.
It has been 4 years since I joined the Payment Services team and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. My departure this week will be bittersweet. As most of you know, I love all things Disney and being a part of this organization has been a true joy because of the stories we tell and the work we have accomplished together.
I have watched as we transformed the Guest experience at Walt Disney World with NGE and Magic Band technology as well as all of the new operational and sales channels we have enabled and continue to work on. Disney is clearly ahead of the game when it comes to engaging our Guests and looking for the future.
Most people have heard me talk about my belief that most things in life of any value are all about relationship. I will miss the interactions with many of you through project meetings, daily calls, lunches, pot-lucks, and all the serious and not so serious conversations. You have all shared with me as I have made some of the greatest memories of my life since coming here. Were it not for the fact that I came to Orlando to work for Disney, I would not have met my wife, also a Disney Cast Member. While we met at church and not at Disney, our love for Disney and joy we get from going to the parks is something we definitely share. I look forward to continuing those visits and running into many of you. Multiple visits to the Food and Wine festival will certainly continue to be a part of my future.
As I move into my new role at Bank of America Merchant Services, I will carry with me the memories from Disney and look forward to seeing you all as I travel the parks with my wife.
I have been truly blessed to be a part of this great team. My life is richer as a result of knowing and working with you all.
My encouragement to you all is that you take time to enjoy life and all it offers. Take every opportunity and every interaction you have with someone else as a chance to see your life as being enriched and a chance to enrich the life of another. God has truly blessed me with amazing people in all aspects of my life and Disney has been no exception. I only hope that I have been able to be an encouragement to you as well.
Thanks and have a magical day
