Well not really my last conference , But I reckon my last Political conference on a DSLR camera. With Canon launching the Canon EOS R Mirrorless 30MP camera any day now , the times they are changing .
I love my sturdy workhorse Canon EOS1DX cameras , they never let me down the quality is amazing and the ability to send the pics from the camera just makes life so much easier.
But at 580g the new EOS R is a third of the weight of the 1DX , and with a new chip should come better images .
So far as I can see the EOS R looks amazing for a first effort from Canon , the model that follows it will be truly amazing . A lot of chatter from fellow professionals has been the lack of 2 card slots . Something that could be an issue but personally i can work with just one slot.
The silent shutter concept is just brilliant , and will really come into its own whilst shooting during interviews and at press conferences .
Canon have created a new mount and some new lenses but with the adaptor supplied you can use your existing lenses.
I have looked at all the other Mirrorless cameras on the market and for now i'm sticking with Canon from the T90 till now they keep getting it right
