TSA Pre-Check is the most important asset of a frequent traveller.
TSA Security lines are experiencing longer than normal wait times - Important news for frequent travellers, especially those of us that count on expedited screening.
Security lines at major US airports are starting to grow as many Transportation Security Agency (TSA) workers are calling in sick to work in response to the government shutdown. Airports reporting longer-than-normal lines include, but are not limited to: Seattle, LaGuardia, Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, and Salt Lake City.
Reports are inconsistent about the length of the wait with the TSA claiming 99.8% of travelers were through screening in under 30 minutes and 90.1% in under 15 minutes. That contradicts traveler reports from some of the largest airports in the US where wait times are being reported at well over an hour.
If you are traveling before the government shutdown has been resolved, we suggest downloading the MyTSA phone app to monitor wait times.
