My Journey to TLC @DELL

I thought of writing this note to say thanks to my managers, leaders, peers, friends who always encouraged me to achieve something bigger than regular.

I started my new role as architect at Dell in 2018 July. Prior to this role I have worked in Telecom BSS/OSS area and have been part of many Tier-1/2 telecom company transformation journey from 1G->2G->3G->4G. There are lot of sweet & successful memories of achievement.

However post joining Dell it was a very different opportunity and challenge for me. Dell being one of the biggest Technology providers always thrives on the best and cutting edge technologies to build product and solution.

Since I joined I have been part of a major digital transformation for transforming exiting stack to cloud Native architecture. It was massive in scale just within one BU (transformation of few hundreds of application from monolithic to cloud native micro service deployment). Bringing in a appropriate DevOps tools & test automation suits for faster deployment using CI-CD. Deigned and helped in implementing appropriate mechanism / tools for increasing site reliability and service monitoring, chaos engineering aspects.

While Dell continue to thrive on technology evolution it also has given highest priority to customer experience with the products & solution offering. I have been driving from IT Architecture side how to best provide subscription offering to customer for our new/existing product or solutions. Dell now delivering many solution/products in subscription and consumption model rather than just selling onetime perpetual model(helps shifting from CAPEX to OPEX model) . With APEX program all Cloud offerings of Dell is now going to be subscription & consumption model for our customers to subscribe/buy.

My overall journey so far has been very great, our leaders encourages on innovation & to experiment with new technologies. I have been able to own 4 Dell authorized patent in last 2 years. My scope of learning was very significant as I get opportunity in multiple domain function to contribute - from product offering to commerce to OM to fulfilment to subscription billing to service to Revenue & Cost Management.

And on top of it Dell has given me a recognition to be part of TLC (Technical Leadership Community - Distinguished Member of Technical Staff).
