My Journey to On Time Staffing

My Journey to On Time Staffing

I’ve been in the staffing industry for over 20 years, and one thing is for certain – there’s no greater job than connecting individuals and businesses so they can reach their greatest potential (at least in my opinion). We are a purpose-driven staffing company linking the potential in people to our customers.

I am thrilled to start my newest chapter at On Time Staffing (OTS). I am a few months into my role as President, and I’d like to take the opportunity in this first edition of my newsletter to tell you a little bit about my journey.

Love for the Industry

The staffing world is notorious for being hyper-competitive, but honestly, I can’t imagine doing anything else. Why do I love it so much? Here are my top three reasons.

  • Immediate feedback on the gratification of helping others.

When you play a role in helping someone find a job that provides for them and their families, you are part of work that makes a difference. And supporting clients to achieve their performance objectives or watching teammates develop skills to reach their career goals - who wouldn't love to have that level of meaning in their work?

  • Constant ebb and flow of change.

The types of challenges we face every day could probably be lumped into a small list, but the uniqueness of each situation requires us to tap into a wide range of experiences to reach just the right solution – problem solving at its finest.

  • Comradery with the people in the industry.

Regardless if someone is a direct competitor or in a completely different vertical, when we get together at events, there is a sense we’re fighting the same battles. For that reason, there’s a willingness to share ideas and create a rising tide to lift all our ships.

What Led Me to On Time Staffing

This is a unique situation to expand a company that was integrated with another organization and is now becoming independent. Creating an improved infrastructure and new teams on the fly is a consuming task. However, the reward of doing it right means doubling or even tripling the size of our company in a short amount of time. Supporting team members in career pathing and pinpointing their financial opportunities makes the challenge worthwhile. When our team is engaged and excited about our work, we can face the industry challenges head-on, together.??

Our team lives this everyday through OTS’s core values to?serve?each other,?engage?always, and?execute?to meet and exceed our clients’ needs.?

The Biggest Challenges in Light Industrial

We are still dealing with the impacts of COVID-19. The federal and state mandates associated with the pandemic have really changed the industry.

Associates’ pay rates, for example, increased significantly for the first time in a decade, which was absolutely needed.?In turn, we were able to provide more flexibility on schedules and benefits offerings.?

However, when the workforce sat out for a significant amount of time, our industry commoditized at a quicker rate than in previous years. Clients significantly increased the number of staffing companies they worked with to obtain the production results needed. Now we are tasked with establishing a new value proposition to increase our client share.

On Time Staffing Is Equipped and Ready to Meet Those Challenges

Clients are looking for innovation in how staffing companies can help meet their production needs, and candidates are looking for innovation in how they can obtain meaningful work with their obligations while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We’re ready to tackle both sets of challenges.

At On Time Staffing, we love bringing new and creative approaches to our clients’ unique circumstances. We are constantly evaluating our product offering to ensure that we have identified what clients want and need in order to exclusively work with or switch to OTS.?

For our candidates, innovation comes in a variety of ways. One example is the tools we use to match them to their desired position, including the ability to pick specific shifts. Another one would?be ensuring they have access to benefits, including a 401k.?

That’s a quick flyover of the many reasons I am excited by my role at OTS. My philosophy to work is that once you make a commitment, you follow through each and every time. In the coming months, I am excited to share that passion of commitment with insights and information, not only on OTS, but on what’s going on in the industry. And I hope you subscribe to the newsletter so you can join me in this journey.?
