My Journey with Technology!!

While handling different Management roles, I have always believed in "Technology - as a game changer".

My tryst with Technology started right from my childhood when I tried my hands at repairing rather spoiling everything that was electronic. On most  occasions, I failed to bring the gadgets back to their original form but the zeal to try and try again never ended.

My interest in technology made me an early starter at learning computers while I was still in High school with the onset of NIIT Technologies - perhaps the first leader in computer education in India.

During my early career days, while my main stream was not technology I was fortunate to effectively use technology to my advantage by automating routine at work resulting in saving not only several man-hours but also increasing efficiency and quality of output. In due course, I developed several working prototypes that were adopted as standard platforms or became vital tools for the success of the processes they were designed for.

Post all the hype created during Y2K transition, I soon started to follow and adapt myself to the new BUZZ of "Internet" and "eCommerce". While eCommerce was in its infancy stages, my first attempt to promote online sales came with launching of Lufthansa India's website. With all the marketing strategies, I began to educate customers on buying tickets directly online. This was the time I launched the first ever Online Live Air Ticket Auction in India followed by other Asia-Pacific countries. The hammer 1... hammer 2.... hammer...3 and the Bid goes to.... were instant hits as several users participated from all over the region to experience these events.

Having developed and implemented several Online Booking and automation Tools over the years, the results have been extremely positive. There is no looking back and whether it is developing prototypes or leading experienced developers to help augment business or reduce cost or increase quality or to simply innovate, etc., I continue to affectively use technology as an integral part of my job function.

Least I say - Don't fear it! Adopt it! There are early bird gains!!
