My Journey Into Syndication Investing

My Journey Into Syndication Investing

In 2009, I opened my own clinic, driven by a desire to make a difference in people's health. As time went on, I felt the need to grow beyond my medical practice and learn more about business. This led me to attend a business conference in 2018, hosted by Grant Cardone, a well-known figure in real estate and business strategy. It was at this conference that I was introduced to the idea of real estate investing, particularly through something called syndication, which was a new concept to me at the time.

Grant Cardone spoke about how real estate could be a powerful way to build wealth and financial security. He explained that syndication is a way for multiple investors to pool their money together to invest in larger properties than they could on their own. Intrigued by this idea, I decided to give it a try and made my first investment as a limited partner in a real estate project.

Over the next six years, I expanded my investments to include several properties, focusing more on multifamily units after finding them more successful than my initial attempt with a single-family home. As I shared my experiences, many of my colleagues in the medical field began to ask for advice on real estate investing. This encouraged me to deepen my knowledge and become more actively involved in the management and selection of investments.

My journey in real estate has led me to explore various investment strategies and learn about the different ways people can invest, including 506(b) and 506(c) offerings, which have different rules for who can invest. Today, I mainly invest in properties in the Southern and Midwestern United States, like Texas, Ohio, Indiana, Nebraska, and Florida, because I find these areas to be good for investment and I like them personally.

Looking back, attending that conference with Grant Cardone was a turning point for me. It not only opened up a new path in real estate investing but also allowed me to share what I've learned with others in the medical profession looking to diversify their investments. As I continue on this journey, I'm grateful for the opportunities to grow and help others do the same.
