My Journey with Sembawang West Zone F RN

Today, I'm excited to take you on a journey that's been incredibly transformative for me. It's all about how I went from battling stage fright and insecurities to confidently taking the mic as the emcee for our annual block party with Sembawang West Zone F Resident Network (RN). Buckle up because it's a tale of growth, overcoming fears, and finding my voice.
A Year Ago: Emcee Debut with Stage Fright
Let's rewind the clock to a year ago when I was a complete newbie to emceeing. I vividly remember the nerves, the stage fright, and the self-doubt that plagued me. Back then, I had no prior experience in the emcee world, but I was offered the chance to be part of our RN event. It was an opportunity I couldn't resist, even if it meant facing my fears head-on.
The grand opening party event loomed, and I decided to give it my all. I woke up at the crack of dawn, 7 am, to painstakingly memorize and recite a one-page script. Hours of practice, yet when I stepped in front of the crowd at noon, I blanked out. The nerves got the best of me, and I forgot everything I had memorized. Oops!
Fast Forward: Emcee Experience and Growing Confidence
Now, fast forward one year later, and here I am, reflecting on how much I've evolved. While I may no longer set my alarm for 7 am to drill the script like a machine, I've gained valuable emcee experience that has boosted my confidence and comfort level. I've learned to face the crowd with more poise and assurance.
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my RN for consistently providing me with opportunities to conquer my fears. Don't get me wrong; I'm still a work in progress, and shyness is part of who I am. But these experiences have pushed me way out of my comfort zone, helping me grow in ways I never thought possible.

Ms. Poh Li San's Graceful Presence
To add icing to the cake, our grassroots adviser, Ms. Poh Li San, graced the event with her presence. I had the privilege of interacting with her and even snagging a few photos together. It was a true honour to have her there, making the event all the more special.
A Blast of Fun and Growth
In the end, our block party turned out to be a blast. I had an absolute blast interacting with the residents and the various organizations that set up booths at our event. It's moments like these that make all the growth, challenges, and insecurities worth it.
So, there you have it—a glimpse into my journey from stage fright to emcee delight. Thanks for joining me on this ride, and remember, facing your fears can lead to some incredible transformations! #OvercomingFear #ConfidenceBoost
