My Journey to Salesforce

I was on a career journey that was heading towards web development. Like many journeys taken I encountered detours, delays, and distractions. Getting comfortable with website design and implementation presented a bright future for me. I had the support of my wife and colleagues which deepened my resolve moving forward. Then the unseen detour from one of my mentors raised what I perceived to be its ugly head in the form of a question.

Oh don't worry, I did not forget the question. This question could be dubbed a hybrid combination of momentum shift and trajectory shift. I was asked, "Michael, have you ever heard about Salesforce?" The look on my face, sound of my voice and response revealed my ignorance. In a weak attempt to mask that, I added an attempt of humor. I responded with a question of my own, "is it anything like the force in Star Wars?" His answer, "Yes but light years ahead and much better".

After being told of the life changing benefits of Salesforce and how I could make a difference in helping others the shift began. Google became my go to for everything Salesforce. I learned about the Ohana and embraced it fully. The most impressive was how helpful everyone i met so far on this journey was willing to help. I came across a group, Talent Stacker that has an awesome program that guides like a state of the art GPS.

I am grateful for the knowledge I am gaining on the path to soon becoming certified as a Salesforce Professional. I am confident that will be a transition to greater and rewarding experiences within the Salesforce Ecosystem. Stay close for updates and this wonderful journey continues.
