My Journey to Product Photography and Styling

As a product stylist, my journey began with a passion for design, color-theory, and an appreciation for photography with a keen eye for detail. I started my career in the fashion industry, working as a journalist and editor for numerous publications. First, as a contributing editor for a variety of publications and then as a managing editor for The Los Angeles Fashion Magazine. I thrived being on set, whether Creative Directing an editorial fashion shoot, or simply working alongside Art Directors, Designers, and Talent—it was through this that I discovered my true calling in product photography and styling.

My approach to product styling is rooted in a deep understanding of each brand’s ethos and the overall message each client is trying to convey through their products. So in this way, together, the message to consumers shines through in all we produce. I believe in creating visuals that tell a story and evoke emotion in the viewer. To achieve this, I work closely with clients to understand their vision and develop a strategy to bring it to life. Whether it's through props, lighting, or creative composition, every detail is carefully crafted to achieve a polished and complete result.

It is through working alongside my husband, Alex Kapustin, that together, we have produced work that has helped to carry many brand’s visions to life. Through the years, I have continued to hone my skills by working with a variety of clients, including many well-known beauty, skincare, and health and wellness brands. In 2018, Alex and I founded Rig Studio LA, a fully dedicated product photography studio catering to clients from around the world. Where each day brings new challenges and the opportunity to work with so many amazingly talented individuals.

Throughout the last several years, I’ve gained a tremendous amount of experience and it is through consistent dedication to my craft, I have built a reputation as a trusted and skilled product stylist, art director, and photographer.

All this said, it is not without the help of so many others, through team collaboration with a multitude of talented individuals, including many talented Photographers, Art Directors, Creative Directors, Lighting Assistants, and more that each shoot and final image come to life. Without a doubt, because of this collaborative process, in the end we all shine and shine brightly. Without each the wheel can not turn, and so it is in great gratitude and appreciation that our work has been featured in numerous publications and campaigns for many top brands. I take pride in the work that I, and my team do and the relationships we have built with valued clients. It is my greatest hope, that together we will continue to produce the highest quality of work while navigating the many unforeseen changes within the industry and beyond.
