Navigating the midlife waters at 58, after two wonderful children and a C-section,
I found myself facing the all-too-common "midlife spread."
Like many, I had been led to believe that endless hours in the gym were the key to reclaiming the flat tummy of my youth.
Yet, the truth I discovered on this journey was far more nuanced and, dare I say, enlightening.
A Revelation in Protein
My battle against the bulge began not with weights or treadmills, but with a closer look at my plate.
Protein became my trusted ally, transforming my diet and my relationship with food.
It was a revelation to find that by enriching my meals with lean meats, legumes, eggs, cottage cheese and so much more, I felt fuller for longer, sidestepping the sugar cravings that had often led me astray.
This simple shift in focus brought about changes that no amount of abdominal crunches had ever achieved.

The realisation struck me profoundly; we are, essentially, walking oceans. Our bodies, mirroring the saline waters of the sea, cried out not just for water, but for electrolytes. We cry, we sweat we pee..we need to replenish our body with salt!
