My Journey with Inspiration, a perishable product

My Journey with Inspiration, a perishable product

Starting my career at the age of 21, I was filled with enormous ambition and a burning desire to further my education. However, the constraints of coming from a middle-class family necessitated securing a job that never truly interested me. Between the ages of 21 and 28, my life's ambitions grew silent, and my inspiration to pursue anything beyond the mundane aspects of my job dwindled.

The Nature of Ambition and Inspiration

Ambition and inspiration, while closely related, are fundamentally different. Ambition is a constant undercurrent, a driving force that can persist through various phases of life. It can be reignited at any given point, often by changes in circumstances or personal realizations. Inspiration, however, is more elusive. It is a fleeting spark that must be seized and nurtured before it fades away.

Inspiration is Perishable

Inspiration is perishable. This realization was one of my guiding principle at work. When inspiration strikes, it comes with an urgency that demands immediate action. Unlike ambition, which can simmer in the background, inspiration can vanish as quickly as it appears if not acted upon. This understanding led me to develop myself and harness these inspired moments.

My Take on Inspiration

Inspiration is like a spark that can ignite a fire if it catches on the right kindling. It requires a receptive mind, ready to act and transform that momentary burst of creativity into tangible progress. Here are a few that always worked to make the most of inspiration:

  1. Seize the Moment: Never wait when inspiration strikes. Take immediate action, even if it's just jotting down your thoughts or starting a small project.
  2. Create a Conducive Environment: Surround yourself with people who encourage your creativity. Cascade the environment down the ladder for everyone to contribute
  3. Stay Mindful: Practice mindfulness to stay aware of your thoughts and feelings. This awareness can help you recognize when inspiration hits.
  4. Be Prepared: Always have a way to capture your ideas, whether it's a notebook, a voice recorder, or a digital app. Don't let inspired thoughts slip away.
  5. Take Risks: Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Often, inspiration leads to ideas that require you to take risks and try new things.

My journey from a 21-year-old with silenced ambitions to someone who understood the perishable nature of inspiration has been transformative.

Remember, inspiration is a gift. When it comes, seize it, act on it, and let it guide you toward your dreams. Your ambitions may lie dormant at times, but inspiration can light the way when you need it most.

Murthy Bjas Sir, I concur with your view on inspiration and seizing it at the right time. My 2 cents to it... True drive from within sustains you beyond inspiration. We must embrace that inner fire to achieve our dreams.
