My Journey from an IT guy to a Financial Adviser

When I started this career as a financial adviser four years ago, it was really intended just for extra income. I was already doing well in my IT career but me and my wife wanted to build a new home and we don’t want to touch our savings. At that time, an extra 20K per month would be a big help.

But as I went through the career, I realized this career can do so much more.

  • The extra income I wanted was able to surpass my corporate income.
  • It also allowed me to have more time with my family when corporate work was always pressed with OT work.
  • Travels were luxurious.
  • And then there’s this sense of fulfillment that comes from helping families and friends as they become your clients. I clearly remember one of my first clients, an OFW who gives everything to her family, hugged me and mentioned "salamat sa iyo, ready na akong tumanda" (thank you, I'm now (secured) ready to grow old).

So, fast forward to today – the beginning of 2020 – I am proud to have mentored agents who were willing to take the leap and start on this path. Some are thriving, while others are on their way there. All of them have a clear picture of how this career can take care of them, their loved ones, and the people they protect.

Thanks for this bunch for joining me in this journey! Let’s have a big year ahead.
