My Journey at EVERSANA: Fall Internship Experience

This fall, I had the incredible opportunity to continue my summer internship with EVERSANA, diving deeper into the fascinating intersection of data analytics and healthcare. Working within the American healthcare ecosystem, which is quite distinct from the systems in Asian countries where I come from, has been both a challenge and a privilege. It pushed me to think differently and leverage my skills in impactful ways.

?As a Data Analytics Intern, I worked on a range of innovative projects that demonstrated how data can shape healthcare decisions. One of my primary responsibilities involved analyzing large-scale healthcare data stored in Snowflake, extracting actionable insights, and presenting them to clients to guide critical decisions. It was thrilling to see how my analysis could directly influence strategies and outcomes.

?A highlight of my internship was designing interactive Tableau dashboards to monitor the performance of marketing campaigns. I explored advanced features like Salesforce Einstein and Tableau Pulse to make these dashboards not just insightful but also dynamic and user-friendly. Seeing stakeholders rely on my dashboards for real-time decision-making was immensely rewarding.

?Another exciting project I worked on was developing a Generative AI tool using a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) model integrated with the OpenAI API. This tool performed text mining on weekly magazines, delivering accurate insights along with source citations. This project was particularly impactful as it directly shaped EVERSANA’s marketing strategies, showcasing the potential of AI-driven innovations in the healthcare domain.

On the technical front, I got extensive experience with AWS services such as SageMaker, Athena, and Glue, which I used for data preprocessing, ETL workflows, and feature engineering. I developed and ran pipelines to create various feature stores tailored to specific requirements. Using SageMaker, I compared the performance of machine learning models like XGBoost, constantly optimizing them for better accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, I utilized AWS Step Functions to automate complex workflows and orchestrate seamless processes.

?My technical expertise extends to Azure DevOps, where I worked on CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and ensure efficient delivery of machine learning models. This dual exposure to both AWS and Azure has equipped me to manage end-to-end machine learning and data processing tasks across diverse platforms effectively.

Beyond technical skills, this internship was a masterclass in communication and collaboration. Whether it was presenting insights to stakeholders or working with cross-functional teams, I learned how to bridge the gap between data and business goals.

Reflecting on this journey, I am immensely grateful for the challenges and growth it offered. From leveraging cutting-edge tools to solving real-world problems, every moment at EVERSANA reinforced my passion for healthcare analytics and technology.
