My journey with digitalization
My journey with digitalization resonates well with the quote.
As a digital immigrant, I decided that I would let anything related to technology be left to the youngsters and tech nerds. Little did I anticipate how it would have creeped into the many facets of our lives especially since the outbreak of Covid-19 and the entailed movement restrictions. Shopping, working from home, meetings, seminars, etc moved online and via various platforms at an unprecedented speed.
Prior to Covid-19, I was slowly exploring what these exponential technologies were and how they worked i.e. AIs, Robotics, VR & AR, Data Analytics, etc. My interest sparked in 2018 with the invitation from a company requesting me to become one of their facilitators in Malaysia for their digitalized based gamification programs. I was impressed by what technology could do to facilitate better learning engagement.
Due to the restrictions of F2F learning since the Covid-19, I pivoted my sessions online……initially it was like ‘the blind leading the blind’ as my participants/clients were equally awkward to the new way of learning. Reflecting on these, it has been the best thing that I’ve done which enabled me to become more creative, connected and productive. I learnt many things that I never thought I could learn before.
I’m glad to have embraced a small part of digitalization albeit still discovering many interesting aspects of it.
