My Journey of Dedication and Recognition: Students Union Awards 2023

The Students Union Awards 2023 marked a memorable milestone in my academic journey. Eager to celebrate the remarkable achievements of my peers, little did I know that this night would be a life-changing experience for me. Walking away with the prestigious SU Outstanding Contribution of the Year award was an incredible honor and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion I had poured into my endeavors.

Winning the SU Outstanding Contribution of the Year award was the result of a long and fulfilling journey. Throughout the year, I dedicated myself to various initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing the student experience and fostering a sense of community on campus. From organizing cultural events to being a part of impactful campaigns, my commitment to making a positive difference was unwavering.

One of my notable contributions was Women’s Day Goodie bags, a token of celebration of Women. The SU Hero is an initiative that connects senior students with incoming freshmen, providing them with guidance and support during their transition to university life by helping them with residential move-in support, and campus and city tours. Witnessing the growth and inclusion of these students was incredibly rewarding and knowing that I had played a part in their personal and academic development filled me with immense joy.

Additionally, I actively participated in student-led committees and clubs, striving to create an inclusive environment where diverse voices were heard and valued. Collaborating with like-minded individuals who shared a passion for change allowed me to amplify our impact and effect positive transformation within our community. Working part-time at the Students’ Union as a Welcome Desk representative also gave me immense joy as I could support my fellow students with everything I could.
