My Journey with Data & Analytics - Part 7 – Glimpse into what I read in 2023
I read a lot of articles, papers, blogs and when I like something I share it on LinkedIn. At the end of a year or at the beginning of a new year, I go through what excited me during the past year.
?
In the past I used to chronicle everything I had shared, but this year I choose to do it differently, from the long list I choose what still excites me as I look back into 2023 getting into 2024.
As I sieved through all the content, only three things seemed to interest me, Bablu Lawrence as a technologist (1&2) , concept of open tables (3) and AI or Gen AI as a concept (4-8).
?I liked reading more blogs from
Bablu Lawrence
as he continued his journey into the depths of AI

Another masterpiece from Bablu Lawrence . This one is closer to my heart as this about SQL ?? – Vinayak
2)
Yet another insightful article by Bablu Lawrence , covering multiple topics like data mesh and generative AI. My favorite part though is the section on open table formats and the world of Delta and Iceberg which I believe are going to revolutionize Data Analytics spacealong with Gen AI - Vinayak
Concept of Open Table formats and how the data war is moving into the space interested me
?3)
If you have two vendors supporting Delta, two supporting Iceberg and one supporting all three, it's going to be fun to watch what happens – Vinayak
Gen AI has taken the world by storm and no wonder it features in my musings as well. Looking into the future Open Tables and Gen AI seem to be the themes for 2024.

“Scott, though, believed in a more optimistic story. At one point, he told me, about seventy per cent of Americans worked in agriculture. Technological advances reduced those labor needs, and today just 1.2 per cent of the workforce farms. But that doesn’t mean there are millions of out-of-work farmers: many such people became truck drivers, or returned to school and became accountants, or found other paths. “Perhaps to a greater extent than any technological revolution preceding it, A.I. could be used to revitalize the American Dream,” Scott has written.”
