My Journey of CV Writing

More than 10 years ago when I started writing CVs for colleagues, I did not know that one day I was going to get paid for the same activity. Looking back, I find that my achievements in this business of CV writing has been a major motivation for me to keep on writing for others. What fascinated me was that people shared how they succeeded after I had a touch of their CVs. I still get amazed that a CV enjoys success when I rearrange some words and add a bit of my own.?
From the time I seriously started writing CVs, I have been privileged meet with very important persons in this country just to work on their CV. One case in particular stands out because it involved a director of one of the wings of government. One morning, I received a call to report to the office of a senior member of the government department. I was scared, I wondered what offence I had committed and I remember contacting my wife to inform her of my movement just in case I was going to be detained. Upon reaching the reception, there was an officer detailed to get by bag and usher me to the top floor to meet the boss. I was sweating, confused and worried at the same time. Upon entering the office, I was greeted with a warm smile and solid handshake. The boss proceeded to give me copies of his CV and asked me to work on it. You should have been there to see how relieved I was. At that moment I remembered that scripture says “your skill shall take you before kings.†I was in the presence of power. Needless to say that I worked on the CV and was paid very well. After a few months the boss got his promotion to become the senior most person.
I also remember working on a CV for a VIP who became a Permanent Secretary afterwards. I have worked on CVs for Doctors in different fields, engineers, clinicians, consultants, directors and drivers. My journey has been exciting and motivating. Back then, I used to get negative feedback for advertising my work of CV writing. I was ridiculed and laughed at. Others told me that I was not a real professional because all I knew was to write CVs. Today I am glad to see so many people join me in this business. I am glad that hostility has reduced against those who are in the business of helping others.
One question which I have been getting has been why my service is expensive. The best answer I can give is that the CVs I do for my clients are not cheap. Further, I only work with clients that can afford my service. Lastly, the price of CV redesign reflects my experience and success over the years. I am good at what I do and I work on CVs personally. Lastly, the price for CV review has been driven by clients. My clients are the ones that have proposed the investment fee to be paid after experiencing the success that a well done CV is able to bring. “A K500 is nothing as compared to K5,000 which a person receives for 3 years as a salary upon getting a job. Mr. Malowa, increase the price for CV redesign.†This is the feedback I receive from clients. When you pay for a CV to be done by myself, you are paying for quality, experience, qualification and guarantee of positive feedback. I take my work very seriously.
The success I have enjoyed over the years when I design CVs is not by accident. I have obtained qualifications to be able to write competently. I possess a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Diploma in Technical and Vocational Teaching, Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Corporate and Commercial Law. I have studied hard to be able to produce quality CVs for my clients. My clients need to know that the consultant is not just looking for money, but is well qualified and competent to generate a good document. You are in safe hands. The advantage you will get when you contract me to work on your CV is that I have very good qualifications and experience working on CVs. This is the reason why my CVs have made it up to the United Nations. People are getting employed by the UN when I work on their CVs.
Lastly I thank God for the ability he has given me to be of help to society. Many people have been employed, promoted or changed jobs after I worked on their CVs. For me, I give glory to God for all that success because promotion comes not from the east or west but from above. Therefore all glory and honor belongs to God Almighty.
