Introduction: Why I Decided to Become a Self-Employed Data Analyst
As a data consultant with nearly a decade of experience in digital industries, I've had the privilege of working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with clients across various sectors to deliver data-driven solutions that achieve their goals. But after years of serving others, I decided it was time to harness my expertise and passion for data analysis and build a business that makes a difference.
My Journey: From Digital Marketing to Data Analysis
There's a significant demand for data-driven insights and predictive models across industries, and I knew that my combination of technical and analytical skills, together with my experience in digital marketing and data analysis, would be valuable to many organizations. Armed with a Master's degree in Applied Data Analytics, I felt confident in my ability to create unique solutions that drive tangible results for my clients.
I started by taking on small projects to gain momentum and refine my processes, and before long, I had secured a contract with a multi-million pound company as their Ecommerce Data Analyst. I've been using Google suite products and Python to analyze trends, identify opportunities, and forecast ROI, and have implemented comprehensive Looker dashboards that break down key sales stats by website categories. It's been rewarding to see the direct impact of my work on the company's growth, and it's given me the confidence to take on more challenging projects.

Developing Expertise: Working with Google and Microsoft Analytics Products
One of my most significant accomplishments was my work with Places for People as their Data Analyst in Customer Experience. In this role, I used Power BI and Salesforce to create data solutions across the organization, using existing infrastructure to streamline processes and improve performance. My work included web analytics, front-end Salesforce, SEO, Analytics Platform, Google Data Studio, Google Tag Manager, Google Optimize Power BI, Google Colab, and automation expertise. I led the company through a transition to collect useful data to drive marketing efforts and improvements, and I implemented tracking solutions to improve online and offline performance of the property developments side of the business. I used machine learning and coding, including Python (Google Colab) & DAX (Power BI), to identify opportunities and provide recommendations that drove significant improvements.
