My ITSS 4351 Experience

Throughout the 2023 Fall semester, I took the ITSS 4351: Foundation of Business Intelligence, which helped improve my technical skills and brought impactful friends and connections within this industry. This class challenged me to improve my technical skills while also honing what the business analytics industry entails. With the help of my professor, I? Today I am thrilled to share the incredible journey and learning experiences from my Foundation of Business Intelligence class!?

Mastering Tableau Analytics: First, I could dive deep into the world of data visualization with Tableau! I learned to transform raw data into actionable insights, turning complex information into visually appealing charts such as sunburst charts, and understandable dashboards. I also learned Tableau's different analytic features, such as the trend line, which helped increase my knowledge in hypothesis testing.? This skill has been a game-changer in translating data into strategic decisions.

Visual Studio Mastery: In the second half of the semester, I explored the powerful functionalities of Visual Studio for Business Intelligence projects. This tool has become my go-to for enhancing data-driven decision-making processes, from designing data models such as decision trees and Neural Networks to creating impactful reports.

?SQL Management Studio Expertise: Unraveled the complexities of SQL Management Studio, gaining proficiency in managing and manipulating databases. This hands-on experience has empowered me to extract valuable information efficiently and enhance data-driven strategies.

Group Collaboration: A key highlight of the course was the emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. Working on group projects honed my technical skills and improved my ability to communicate complex findings effectively, fostering a collaborative mindset crucial in the professional world. I got different perspectives on how to approach the project technically.?

Career Impact as a Business Analyst: Fast forward to today, and these skills have proven invaluable in my role as a Business Analyst! Leveraging Tableau for data visualization has allowed me to present insights compellingly, aiding my coworkers and managers in making informed decisions. Visual Studio and SQL Management Studio have become indispensable tools in my daily tasks, streamlining data processes and ensuring accuracy in reporting. As I go into my Business Analytics career in Apex Fintech Solutions, I want to translate everything I have learned into my career.
