My Interview for l’Agefi of IMPLENIA’s CEO. IMPLENIA is a Swiss-Based Leading International Construction Firm.

For the business daily l’Agefi, I interviewed Anton Affentranger, Implenia’s CEO.

Implenia is Switzerland’s leading construction firm. It has offices in an array of European countries, is listed in the SIX Swiss Exchange and employs about 6,000 people.

Key statements by Anton Affentranger included:

• Some segments of the construction industry are very local. However, other segments are very international e.g. large projects such as the Gotthard tunnel where references and technical competencies play a paramount role.
• Technical norms, local regulations, etc. are barriers to the internationalization of the construction industry. However, these barriers -- that protect some local markets and occupations -- are not insurmountable; in addition, the international harmonization of our industry is moving forward.
• The construction industry is poised to make significant efficiency progresses thanks to the digitalization of the economy; therefore, our business processes will be dramatically shortened and improved.
