My Internship Journey with TESLA

"Accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy."

Having the opportunity to work for a company that is changing the world is exhilarating and rewarding as well. The day to day projects I get to work on are right up my alley, challenging, and stretch my ability to allow me to learn on the job. California-based ‘Tesla’ is committed to having the best-in-class in safety, performance, and reliability in all the Tesla cars. Today, Tesla builds not only all-electric vehicles but also infinitely scalable clean energy generation and storage products.

My role as a Data Analyst Intern heavily focuses on Analysis and Reporting of huge datasets and deriving meaningful insights to support Global and Regional Logistics, Distribution Center operations, working cross-functionally with Global Supply Chain, Service and Finance to collect, measure, visualize and interpret data.

One of my major projects demands me to perform Reverse Engineering to create schema for an existing high density database, to enable efficient data storage and quicker access, increasing the Master Data Integrity and optimizing Outbound Logistics’ operational effectiveness and efficiency.

I create daily live reports to enhance DC’s and OL’s operational effectiveness, identifying trends to perform root-cause analysis and develop solutions to address operational gaps and inefficiency.

Apart from work, I am actively involved in activities like Intern Expo and other recreational activities and events being conducted by the University Recruiting Team, through which I get a chance to meet and interact with my fellow interns. The University Team also conducts events like Informative Intern Speaker session and LinkedIn workshop, helping individuals like me to develop professional, networking and interpersonal skills.

Overall, it is a wonderful experience working towards Tesla's mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
