My Internship Experience: Katelyn Dalton
What attracted you to apply to Nucleo?
I was initially attracted to applying for a position at Nucleo as I saw it as a great opportunity for me to expand my skills and knowledge in areas that I had not yet ventured into such as Maximo and System Solutions.
I wasn’t sure where my strengths were, so I also really liked the diversity of the work that Nucleo do and the ability to learn a lot of new skills.
What is the best thing you have got out of the Internship so far?
I have learned a lot during my internship so far. My technical skills have greatly improved along with my ability to work with a team. Three key skills I developed over my internship are:
·???????Analysing problems and developing solutions
·???????Data analysis
·???????Communication and stakeholder engagement
I have also really enjoyed the team dynamic and getting to know the staff which have been lovely and extremely helpful whilst I’ve settled in. It is clear Nucleo really care about their staff which therefore made the transition to a new workplace super easy and enjoyable.

What’s the one thing that has surprised you most about the Internship so far?
Its flexibility. Whether it be with working hours or type of work you have been assigned to, Nucleo has offered great flexibility with regards to my needs.
There is always the option to work on a different project if you would like to vary your work. Every day you learn new skills and expand your knowledge.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I will be going back to college to do Art Teaching in September. If all goes to plan I will be doing my first year working in a Secondary School.
If you had one piece of advice to offer someone considering joining Nucleo, what would it be?
100% go for it as you won’t regret it. I have really enjoyed my time in Nucleo so far. I’ve really enjoyed the work itself and getting to know everyone. The team have been exceptional and are all really lovely people who I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with. Nucleo also opened the door to many opportunities and allowed me to expand my skills. The work environment overall is really great and it is an excellent company to work for.
