From a confusing and stressful wait during the internship process to finally having completed the summer internship in one of the most interesting industry: My Internship Adventure at SOL Brand Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time”- Leo Tolstoy. The market wasn’t (and still isn’t) great, and everyone had to wait for their turn. But my concern was also the challenge to make the right choices. I did take a decision and after confirming what I’m going to specialize in, the next task was to gain some practical experience in it. I was ready, and that’s when my marketing internship at SOL Brand Solutions Pvt. Ltd. started. Without an iota of knowledge on what to expect, I promised myself to keep a broad mind and do my best, whatever was at stake.
My internship started with an induction process: a crash course in the exhibition booth industry – websites, competitors, the whole shebang. It was a week of information overload, but it fueled my excitement to dive deeper. Website analysis became my mission – I scoured the company's digital presence, competitor sites included, hunting for ways to improve. Finding errors and suggesting solutions felt like cracking a code, and collaborating with the marketing team to enhance a website for a new market segment was a thrill. Learning about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and the importance of plagiarism-free content added another layer of knowledge to my growing skillset.
Weeks two and three were all about action plans. I channeled my website insights into a comprehensive proposal, presented it to the Director and marketing team, and – drumroll please – my ideas were well-received! That translated into concrete action plans for the next phase. This experience was a confidence booster, and it wasn't the only one. Shadowing colleagues and “pestering” my manager (thank you Madhushree Alva Ma’am!) offered a glimpse into past challenges and service delivery methods, giving me valuable context for the future. Idea generation also took center stage – brainstorming for an e-brochure and meeting with the supporting team, from freelance writers to social media manager and website developer, all fueled the creative fire. Finally, gathering booth designs from various departments solidified the importance of collaboration in achieving a unified brand experience.
The following weeks were a whirlwind of website and brochure development. Eagle eyes came in handy as I identified inconsistencies across platforms – a testament to the importance of meticulousness. Content creation became another weapon in my arsenal – researching keywords, crafting SEO-friendly blog topics, and even building a Trade Show USA Calendar for the website. Social media wasn't left behind either. Brainstorming campaigns with the leadership team, crafting video content, and collaborating with the graphics design team were all part of the exciting mix.? Ensuring consistent messaging across all channels (omnichannel, anyone?) became a key focus.
The final weeks were a testament to the dynamic nature of marketing.? Website and brochure work continued, but so did my coordination efforts. Liaising with various departments became a daily routine, ensuring all marketing tasks were moving smoothly. The interaction with 2D designers, content writers, and the web developer solidified the importance of clear communication in achieving common goals. My keen eye even helped identify an error in the company email signature – a small detail with a big impact! Bigger challenges awaited, however. Social media engagement needed a boost, and I was tasked with increasing the company's LinkedIn followers by 100%. Undeterred, I collaborated with different teams, brainstorming ways to breathe life into various platforms. Another hurdle emerged – duplicate and inactive social media accounts were hindering the company's visibility. Taking initiative, I tackled this head-on, initiating the process of shutting them down.
Looking back, this internship has been a treasure trove of takeaways. Teamwork became second nature as I collaborated with diverse stakeholders. Problem-solving evolved from a basic skill to a systematic approach. Professionalism resonated in every task, from proofreading website content to interacting with senior leadership. Learning never stopped, fueled by observation, company culture, and the efficiency gleaned from task sheets (God bless MS Excel!). Marketing theories transformed into practice as I applied concepts like STP Model, Brand Identity, SEO, content marketing, email marketing, and social media marketing. The importance of data management became crystal clear, and so did the impact of AI and plagiarism-free content. To top it all off, I completed certification courses in Inbound Marketing and SEO from HubSpot Academy , further solidifying my knowledge base.? Networking with employees across departments provided invaluable connections and witnessing the promotion of my Industry Mentor – a testament to the supportive environment – instilled a sense of accomplishment in knowing we (as a team) may have played a small part in their success.
