My insight from experience on sourcing marketing agency

Since the begining of my business I have tried a lot of methods and strategies of marketing and advertising. I did it by my own ideas as well I have out sourced ad agencies of variuous sizes and levels in terms of how they perpetuate. Later on,I understood that many of them proved to be worthless because of two reasons,that is firstly I didn't have the clarity of purpose of marketing and secondly I didn't have the knowledge about entreprenuer's as well as marketing agencey's roles. So I wasted a lot of time a money pertaining to marketing and advertising.

So now let give you some insights I acquired about the roles of an entreprenuer as well marketing agncy.

FIRSTLY ENTREPRENUERS ROLE

Clarity on our expectations :It dosen't matter whether our business is ongoing or a startup or any where in between,we must have the clarity on our expectations on marketing.Are we expecting branding or sales to happen.

Content strategy and marketing: In this context content is business accumen comprising of specific knowledge of all operations in business which helps a business owner to take decissions. The indept knowledge of the business owner, every thing related to his sales is the source of content strategy. Content strategy is?an all-encompassing approach for creating content and higher-level planning process that drives key business objectives. In comparison, content marketing is the nuts-and-bolts process of creating, publishing, and promoting content.

Nobody, and I mean this, nobody knows our business better than us,so content strategy needs to be taken care of within our business, by the business owner and this is where our marketing content needs to address the needs, desires, problems, pain of ours and fantasies of our target customer. After finding out our target customer, based on our product or service, marketing starts. As a first step we must break down the demographic as well as the psychographic profile of target customer. That means to understand what's their age, their profession, their income, their location,their background,their value system,their behaviors and their thought processes. Then we have to design our marketing strategy, test the strategies and see what's working for us. For that we have to learn the basics of marketing, Experts as well as professional's advice, practical wisdom, feedback of a business owner from his customer data history, then datas from current journals, books of eminent authors and social medias are various sources to acquire knowledge on marketing model and methods which suits our business.

SECONDLY ROLE OF MARKETING SOURCE

We must understand that we hire marketing agency or a freelancer for two things, number one their design capabilities because they need to make our brand look a million dollars, number two for their technical abilities, in terms of paid ads, optimization of ads, analytics, and reporting. A mistake many business owners, make is that we hire an agency and expect the agency to create content.Only content distribution, reach analytics and design can be done by an agency.A lot of entrepreneurs like me fall into this pitfall of wasting our money with agencies, expecting the agencies to understand our demo and our expertise to create content and campaign. I can say that, no agency is able to do that. I have ample experience with various agencies to understand that a successful relationship with the marketing agency is, when we own the content and they do the design and the technical aspect for us. Because, based on our expectations and based on what's possible for our product, based on our target customer, the role of the agency changes

?So, to conclude, I reinstate from my practical wisdom that, clarity of poupose of marketing, understanding the roles of an entreprenuer and understanding the roles of marketing source is the ability, a business owner need to develop to hire the right marketing source, when professionals throw mesmerising profits and gains.
