What made you join Infosys?
I come from a city which is also known as Oxford of East ‘Pune’. ‘Infosys’ was founded in this very city in the year 1981 so it is no exaggeration to say that we grew up reading about Infosys as a company in newspapers and listening to happy reviews about the company from people around. After completing bachelors in economics and Goethe Institute German Studies, I completed my management studies from Indo German Training Center. I started my career journey by working with one of the German Safety Products Manufacturing company which helped me lay foundation of Indo-German business management skills. Later I landed up with a job in city of dreams; Mumbai, which took my career to the next level. This job was in completely different Oil and Gas sector. I later wrote a white paper on International Investment which I presented at a Prestigious Institute in Germany. My first stay in Bangalore was for one of the French based Insurance and Finance company and Bangalore did not forget to make the right impression on me. When I learnt about the German Speaking recruiter opening at the Bangalore Infosys, I applied immediately and that’s how it all began. It was an absolute honor to be a part of this organization that I have known about since my childhood. The Bangalore city was calling me and my joy had no bounds.
Tell us about your first day at Infoys ?
On my first day at Infosys, I was totally spellbound to see the beautiful and vast campus encompassing picturesque infrastructure and wondrous greenery. Company had arranged for my stay at Bangalore ECC for first few days making sure that I will be comfortable and able to grasp the functioning of the company without worrying about my accommodation. The Infosys Bangalore campus truly seemed to me like a small town equipped with all facilities. Being a foodie, I was extremely delighted to find so many amazing restaurants in the campus area. On the first two days of induction we were introduced to company structure, culture, policies. I found company’s mission on Sustainable Future, Nature Conservation, Waste Management, Carbon footprint reduction, Healthy Lifestyle, Sport and Fitness, CSR, Music and Culture, Education and Development, Innovation really appealing.
Your most memorable moment at Infy would be?
Each working day at Infosys adds value to Life and gives meaning to the day. However, there are few days which are more memorable and prove to be the certificate of hard work you put through every day. I participated in a project with Harleen in the very beginning for entry level German Professionals. Although we could not start the project unfortunately, we received majorly positive feedback's for that project which started my journey at Infy on a good note. I am part of Germany Graduate Recruitment Team. We started three Graduate Batches in the last three quarters. I was equally delighted on each starting day of Graduate Batch as I was equally involved with my colleague Sonali and team from sourcing of candidate profiles to preparing them to interviews. Each interview felt like my own interview. I even did some lateral hires since the time I joined. All these incidences are moments to treasure for sure, as this job definitely gives you the satisfaction of changing lives. Last year in August we ′EMEA team′ visited an orphanage near office. It was also an unforgettable experience with all the kids.
Personal Slogan
Never give up, learn and innovate everyday as the best of you is yet to be.
The difference between earlier You and present You
Coming from Procurement and Marketing background, I remember asking Naveen, how do you manage all this recruitment work? He smiled and answered my question calmly: It’s simple. In Procurement you were sourcing material and in Talent Acquisition, you are going to source candidates by marketing our Brand J . It was actually true :) A year ago I was not sure if I would be able to manage the hiring of a German Native speaker on board for a 24*7 shift technical job. But with Aga’s motivation and my new found love for the Talent Acquisition domain, things changed considerably for good over a year; turning me from a good Buyer into a confident Recruiter.
Message to fellow Infoscions
We all are lucky to work for a company which is true to its values and ethics. Also it is sailing well through these global pandemic times. The company has not just allowed us to work from home by providing the required support but is also making sure that we are keeping ourselves overall fit. It’s us Infoscions responsibility that the seed which was planted in the year 1991 by founder members flourishes well by achieving the common goal ‘Making difference in Society’ in any possible way. I am a proud Infosion. Are you?

4 年It feels like we have been working together since ever, Ishani. The journey continues, adds more bends and twists on the way to teach us that "not sure if I would be able to manage" feeling is unnecessary. ;-) Beautifully written story, Ishani. :-) More batches of Germany Graduate Recruits, more successful unexpected roles and much more success to follow! :)
