Writing a story today will be a pleasant memory for tomorrow. It’s been almost two years at the Talent Acquisition team @Infosys and I am excited to share my story !
The following description is not an answer to the questions asked but it’s a pleasant time that I spent with Infosys so far and improved on variety of professional skills in recruitment and HR domain.
1. What made you join Infosys?
I was very well aware about Infosys, as one of the top IT global service company, and it has very wide presence across the globe. When I got offer to join from Infosys as a consultant, though I was kind of frustrated with my current monotonous work, I wasn't interested in changing job.
After thinking over multiple times on the opportunity, I decide to join Infosys with the assumption that I will get exposure to work in multi-national company and I will get an opportunity to work on variety of resourcing requirement. I joined Infosys with the assumption that the opportunity and the exposure would surely be different and wider then my current job.
And today, I can say that I took best decision to join Infosys!
2. Tell us about your first day at Infosys ?
I joined Infosys on Oct, 2018. It’s almost two years by now, time flies so fast but still I remember my joining day with Infosys. I was interviewed by two awesome practice leads Alka Kelkar and Sharon Lopes. On my joining day I was informed that Sharon Lopez will be my reporting manager. In first few hours, I got basic material about Infosys which included overview of the company, Recruitment process Handbook.
Sharon introduced me to Archana, and other colleagues. Archana was very cooperative, on the same day she introduced me with couple of key processes and procedures followed in Infosys including software tools required for the recruitment process.
All in all, the first day was quite exciting that started with warm welcome, introduction with team, learning about some of the keys processes of Infosys and to fulfill couple of on-boarding formalities.
3. Your most memorable moment at Infy would be ?
It was a pleasant day of 31st Oct, 2019. We got information a week ahead that Infosys is going to celebrate Halloween Potluck and Costume party in office canteen. As it was a working day, so we spent almost half the day to wind-up our day's responsibilities and then we went to canteen to celebrate Halloween.
Everyone was quite excited, wearing amazing costumes and brought several own cooked dishes from their home. There were varieties of mouthwatering delicious food items (I am a foodie so It was one of the main attractions for me ). The party was on for almost half of the day. Slowly it turned into a party with lots of fun. Everyone was casual, greeting everyone and laughing on each other's funny Halloween's costumes. It was one of the best social gatherings I ever had at work place.
It was one of the memorable moments in my life. Sharing a few moments that I captured in picture.
4. Difference between earlier YOU & the present YOU
There is a saying - "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success".
If you join a good team and working under amazing leaders, your experience will gain boost and your horizon of opportunity & experience will grow exponentially.
Infosys gave me enormous opportunity to work for end-to-end recruitment. This includes searching for niche skill resources, selecting the right candidates, initiating screening process, setting up interviews with panelists and initiating the on-boarding process for shortlisted candidates for wide variety of skills.
The working environment in Infosys is very cooperative & collaborative. Infosys taught me how to do smart selection by narrowing down the skills to hire the right candidates and complete end to end process . Infosys gave me the exposure of strategic hiring how to combine marketing and HR skills together . As I always enjoyed talking new challenges and don’t give up easily until there is any solution and this is the place where leaders make the difference with new strategies.
In addition to strategic hiring, the key addition to my skills now also includes organizing hiring events, such as weekdays and weekend drives etc.
5. Message to fellow Infoscions
Infosys has a great working environment and healthy work culture. Teamwork with collaboration always brings success.
I am happy to be a part of a wonderful team with awesome onshore / offshore colleagues and their continuous support. Special thanks to Our unity is our strength. We can achieve all milestones with this power. The secret behind big success is only great teamwork.
