My Infosys Story

“My Infosys story” - an initiative by my fellow Infoscion - Harleen Sodhi, made me think about my journey in this organization and that encouraged me to pen down my thoughts too. I’ve been with #Infosys for over eight years now. This is my journey here. The path of career I chose and am proud of. A happy one indeed.

1. What made you join Infosys?

As a person who was born and brought up in Namma Bengaluru, Infosys was not just another IT company. Infosys resonates with every Bangalorean. Infosys is “our company”. The company we grew up watching as it scaled new heights. It has been the prestigious company I was always in awe of, not just for the brand name but for the values it upheld. It was my dream company to work with while I was pursuing my Masters. 

I joined right out of college on contract and moved quickly in my roles and within two and a half years I was on a full-time permanent position. Not just me, even my folks were super proud of me when I joined Infosys.  

2. Tell us about your first day at Infosys    

In my Master’s program, Industrial visit was a part of the curriculum and that was the first time I set my foot inside Infosys campus, and I fell in love with it. I remember I had butterflies in my stomach on the first day of my job. But those butterflies were soon put to rest since the onboarding experience was extremely smooth and easy. I felt at home in no time. This place was everything I thought it would be and better.

3. Your most memorable moment at Infy would be

Infosys gave all the recruiters an opportunity to use Linkedin’s recruiter account as a sourcing tool. We had intrinsic trainings as well as applied trainings too. Being one of the LinkedIn’s “Top 40 social recruiters across India” in the year 2017, was a feather in my cap. I was happy and proud to be associated with Infy.

5. The difference between the earlier YOU & present YOU

“Change is an end result of all true learning”.  

I have seen myself grow professionally and personally. Working in an internationally reputed organization means continuous learning is guaranteed. I have been fortunate enough to work with the best and build relationships that have only grown stronger with every passing year. 

One of the most notable achievement in the trajectory of my professional life is, that I have swiftly moved from a person with no IT background to learning, mastering and recruiting IT professionals. Infosys has shown me that there are endless possibilities for my growth.

On personal front, I can see myself aiming higher and working smarter with patience. It is easy to attain work life balance when you are working with an organization like Infy!

6. Message to fellow Infoscions

Take pride in being an Infoscion. The culture and values that are upheld by the organization are deeply rooted and valued by everyone alike. With the global campus, learning hubs and resilience to the growing trends in IT, Infosys in indeed an organization to be with.
