As we reflect on the year 2023, it’s clear that #Industry40, or the Fourth Industrial Revolution, has continued to revolutionize industries globally. Here are the key trends that in my opinion have defined this transformative year in Kellanova Manufacturing Valls
1. AI and Machine Learning
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) have become even more integral to #Industry40 . In Kellanova we have leveraged these technologies for predictive maintenance, quality control, and supply chain optimization. The trend towards AI-powered autonomous systems has also grown, with more industries adopting these technologies for increased efficiency and productivity.
I predict that 2024 will be the great year of AI technology deployment in the industry and specifically in Kellanova Manufacturing Valls.
2. Internet of Things (IoT)
The Internet of Things (IoT) has continued to expand, with an increasing number of industrial devices connected to the internet. This has allowed for real-time data collection and analysis, leading to improved decision-making processes and operational efficiency. The rise of Industrial IoT (IIoT) has been particularly notable, with industries harnessing the power of connected devices for various applications.
3. Cybersecurity

With the increased connectivity and reliance on digital technologies comes the need for robust cybersecurity measures. Protecting sensitive data and industrial systems from cyber threats has been a top priority in Kellanova, with industries investing heavily in advanced cybersecurity solutions. The development of security standards and protocols has also been a significant trend.
4. Digital Twins
The use of digital twins, virtual replicas of physical systems, has seen a surge. These digital counterparts allow for simulation, analysis, and optimization of real-world scenarios, leading to improved product design and manufacturing processes, we are currently doing a pilot of a digital twin along with Siemens to create diferent capacity increase scenarios and how we can optimize the introduction of new products in the plant floor.
5. Sustainability
Finally, sustainability has been a key focus. With the growing awareness of climate change and environmental issues, industries have been exploring ways to reduce their carbon footprint. This has led to the rise of green manufacturing practices and the use of renewable energy sources in industrial processes.
In conclusion, 2023 has been a year of significant advancements in Industry 4.0. As we look forward to 2024, it’s exciting to imagine what further innovations lie ahead and mainly with the use of the AI technologies.
