(My) High level overview of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations 10.0.12

Well G.A. on 10.0.12 came around, for those with preview access it has been there since May. The platform updates help text points to 7 new features, the Feature management list comes with 53 new features with 9 System administration features (4 of those on a pdf viewer), 14 Retail and then 4 on warehouse, 4 on Tax, 4 on AP and 4 on Project and then sprinkling across other areas.

10.0.12 is part of release wave 1 and as such described in the document describing all the "sub-releases" of wave 1 (2020). with all the relevant (and frequently irrelevant (non-F&O)) sub folders,

There are also specific pages on enhancements in finance, SCM, Commerce (Retail) and HR

It is a personal choice of what people think is the most important. So.. I was personally intriqued by:

Customer and vendor master data sharing : Enables sharing of customer and vendor master data in a cross-company data sharing policy without using a Master company.

(Supposed to be in LCS>Shared asset library>Data package.. so far no luck for me..)

Show related document attachments: This feature modifies the Documents attachments page to support viewing attachments from all tables on the page that are related to the active record. The attachments count reflects this change. In addition, users are able to move and copy attachments between those related tables.

But it appears that it is an enforced copy function for only directly related records :-(

License plate receiving enhancements: This feature introduces several improvements and options for the license plate receiving (and put away) processes. It adds an option that enables the warehousing mobile app to support license plate receiving without needing to create warehouse work. warehousing mobile app.

See more here - I had such high hopes.. It is tied to a previously received ASN.. I was just hoping that a couple of enhancements to Arrval overview and/or the Registration form could have slipped in

Personally I think it is hard to navigate the different documentation on what's new. So I have quite likely missed something IoT is exciting and had a bullet but it didn't really describe what the differnce were.

There was also an exciting bullet on using D365FO Asset management with "Guides" (mixed reality/holographic lens/Holo lens).. really why can't I find an exciting video showing that? This picture was the only one shown on the note??
