My Hero
Yvonne C. Freeman
I'm a Bible Christian. An author, poet and song writer posting poetry from my books inspired by the written word of God
“So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” - Hebrews 13:6
When you were a child did you have someone you idolized? Someone you looked up to. Someone you felt could and would protect you. Who was your hero when you were a child? Was it Batman, Spiderman or a mortal man you idolized? Now that you are all grown up, do you still have a hero in your life?
Jesus is my hero. He is the love of my life. He is my friend my soul mate when I need someone to talk to day or night. Sight unseen yet I feel his presence near when I am quiet and still. He's always there where ever I am that's why I turn to Jesus in prayer when trouble cross my path. He is that bright light if ever I’m afraid in the middle of the night.
Jesus knows our pain for he experienced the same. Created a little lower than the angels in a suit of flesh and bones to feel the suffering man-kind endures on this earth. He was tortured, crucified, afflicted more than any man before he gave up his life. What man do you know would do that for you but Jesus?
I call his name whenever I'm in pain. I call his name for only Jesus can forgive my sins. He loves me so much he never left me alone to suffer in this world when he was gone. He sent the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, the Angels to watch over me. You can't see them but they are near, they are everywhere watching, protecting the righteous all those who believe in Jesus. That’s how much he loves me. That’s why Jesus is my hero.
"It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." - John 16:7
Jesus is the sacrificial Lamb of God who died for you and me. Jesus is my super hero not mortal man who can't even save himself. Jesus is my Superman.
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” – Proverb 18:10
