To My Heart's Content #7
Back again with my seventh roundup of much-loved content bits from the last month or so.
NUMBER ONE: Cute microcopy from purifyou
I really loved this simple, friendly and subtly smile-inducing microcopy from purifyou on my new water bottle label. A reminder that writing how you speak and injecting some personality and light humour into your brand voice delivers a much nicer experience for the end customer. This also made me jump straight onto their website to see if I could find any other cute examples of copywriting from them—I did, and am now a purifyou convert.?
NUMBER TWO: The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller
Now, this is how you tell a story. Complicated and mesmerising in equal measure with writing so intelligent and atmospheric it drags you in on the first page and doesn’t let you go until 386 pages later. I adored every single page.?

NUMBER THREE: Meghan of Montecito
I include this article with absolutely no love lost or found for the subject of the profile but allllll the admiration for the incredible copy skills of the author, Alisson P Davis. I’ll admit, parts of this article made me eye roll into another dimension, but the subtly in which Davis works in an “opinion” (without every actually voicing it or appearing to land on either side of the turbulent Meghan Markle fence) is delectably enjoyable to read. This is journalism at its absolute best.?
NUMBER FOUR: Mean Book Club
I’VE FOUND A NEW FAVOURITE PODCAST, GUYS. And it’s Mean Book Club; which is basically hour-and-a-half-long episodes of women drinking alcohol and bitching about the latest bestseller books. It’s fun because I’ve read most of the books they chat about and also because I love seeing how different people interpret the same book. It’s the perfect mix of interesting enough to keep you entertained during a daytime walk, but also not too interesting that you can’t fall asleep to it at night, too. The absolute podcast utopia. If you enjoy reading but haven’t been able to find a local book club; this perfectly fills the gap.
NUMBER FIVE: Viral LinkedIn post generator?
I recently stumbled upon this viral LinkedIn post generator, which was unarguably one of my favourite parts of the week. The funny thing is I’m pretty sure I read 8-10 variations of these AI-generated outcomes on LinkedIn daily (and probably like some of them, too). A very clever and satirical commentary on the neverending abyss of inspirational LinkedIn posts; I may never bother writing another post again.
