Can you start by sharing a bit about your background and how you initially joined the company?

I am of Hispanic descent and began my professional journey in retail and sales. Growing up in Tucson, Arizona, I realized that opportunities for career advancement were limited. When I joined Great Day, I recognized the immense growth potential and fully committed myself to the role. Over the years, this decision has been a true blessing, not only for me but also for my family.

What motivated you to pursue a career within the company?

I was motivated to pursue a career with the company because of the sales opportunities and the growth potential.

Can you share a pivotal moment or project that played a significant role in your early career development?

A pivotal moment in my early career development came through the guidance and support of my training managers. Their mentorship has significantly impacted my growth, providing me with the tools and knowledge to succeed. I’m truly grateful for their influence and their role in shaping my career.

How did you navigate challenges during your early career, and what did you employ to overcome them?

During my early career, I was fortunate to be part of a company where everyone—from operations to management—supported each other. That's the difference between a good company and a GREAT company!

As you progressed in your career, were there specific skills that you worked on to enhance your professional profile?

As I progressed in my career, I made an effort to develop my people skills. The ability to effectively communicate, build relationships, and understand others' needs is crucial in this field.

Tell us about the transition from your initial role to your new position in a different department. How did you identify this opportunity, and what steps did you take to make the move successfully?

The role of Design Consultant at Great Day has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Were there specific mentors or role models who played a significant role in your career advancement? How did they influence your professional development?

Sven Kramer played a key role in helping me refine my demonstration and presentation skills. Jim McGrath was also a major influence early in my career, guiding me through the overall sales process. Along with many others, their mentorship and support have been critical to my professional growth.

Looking ahead, what are your future career goals, and how do you plan to continue your professional development within the company?

My career goal is to continually improve my skills and craft while also supporting and mentoring my colleagues along the way.

Stick with it -- anything worth the time is worth great effort.
