This month, we are excited to feature Annie Domingos. Annie started with K-Designers 21 years ago and has grown from a Call Center Telemarketer to the HR Generalist of our K-Designers brand.
Can you start by sharing a bit about your background and how you initially joined the company??
K-Designers was my first job out of High School, where I started as a telemarketer.?
What motivated you to pursue a career within the company??
What began as a job to help me through college turned into a long-term career, as K-Designers consistently recognized my potential and actively promoted me to make the most of my strengths within the organization. As a result, I chose to stay with K-Designers.?
Can you share a pivotal moment or project that played a significant role in your early career development??
During the economic downturn of 2009, I was working as an entry-level Finance Associate when I faced a layoff. However, K-Designers recognized the value of my contributions and rehired me. Two years later, I successfully rebuilt the department by hiring and training new employees, ultimately advancing to the role of Finance Manager.?
How did you navigate challenges during your early career, and what did you employ to overcome them??
Time management and task prioritization were my biggest challenges. I learned to set clear goals, create daily schedules, and regularly review my progress each week. These practices greatly enhanced both my professional development and my personal life.?

As you progressed in your career, were there specific skills that you worked on to enhance your professional profile??
With each new role I was promoted to, I committed to taking online classes, reading articles, and continuously expanding my knowledge. This dedication helped me become the best employee I could be.?
Tell us about the transition from your initial role to your new position in a different department. How did you identify this opportunity, and what steps did you take to make the move successfully??
In my previous role as Executive Assistant, I assisted with HR responsibilities and managing the company payroll. When the opportunity arose to transition to the HR Department during the acquisition, I was well-prepared, having completed several HR classes and training courses. This foundation ensured a smooth and successful transition into my current role as HR Generalist.?
Were there specific mentors or role models who played a significant role in your career advancement? How did they influence your professional development??
Over the past 20 years, the entire Senior Level Leadership team at K-Designers has provided invaluable guidance and insights, helping me navigate challenges. Their encouragement and feedback have significantly shaped my skills and confidence, greatly influencing my professional development.?
Looking ahead, what are your future career goals, and how do you plan to continue your professional development within the company??
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue developing in my current role to advance my career. I am actively enhancing my skills and knowledge through classes, reading articles, and staying informed on current HR industry trends. I always strive for excellence and aim high, with the hope of becoming an invaluable asset to Great Day Improvements.?
