My Golden Values

My Golden Values

This will come as no surprise to those who know me, especially those who’ve worked with me.

As part of my work at Word. Creative Consultants, I often encourage community builders and founders to first establish their values.

Second, I recommend they communicate them out loud. So, as a show of solidarity, here is my annual reminder to friends and colleagues.

Word. works and plays.

Communications and community forge our strong frame - the following shape the rest:

Winning Collaborations

I only seek to win-win. In 2009, my business partner asked me to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics. As an athlete? Gosh, no. As a social media and content creator for Samsung.

It was a competition to create daily content about the Games, while competing with dozens of other creators from countries around the world.

I would only compete under one condition: To attempt, we must win the GOLD medal.

And we did. We won and my insistence to collaborate only on win-win strategies was born.

Remarkable People

Every few years, I’ll isolate myself in beautiful environments for a few weeks to refocus my personal and professional sights.

I speak with remarkably talented people to develop interesting and exciting ideas with enthusiasm. This statement, as simple as it is, has shaped the last several years of my life and has become something Word. sniffs out.

Working alongside exceptional people makes everyday worth playing.

Original & Fresh Communications

Whether I’m communicating verbally as an Event Host / MC or I’m developing written communication strategies to engage with community, it’s always original.

I encourage the cultivation of fresh voices and I do my best to share and teach what I know.

Value Creation

A mentor of mine once surmised, ‘the most valuable collaborators don’t need to show anyone their resume; their reputation helps them get found’. Whether that’s true or not, I always find ways to add value and I seek a similar quality in those remarkable people I play with.

Whereby in 2009, I was willing to compete. These days, I focus less on competition and more on creation

Leadership, Guidance and Enthusiasm

I believe we all have something to teach. When we guide our friends and colleagues, we all gain from the effort. Offering and accepting leadership and guidance is a must.

Sprinkle in enthusiasm?

There’s no other way I’d rather play.
