My God fill you with Joy and Hope

Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

It's been a long while since I last made a post. I hope all are well. Where do you receive Joy? What brings you happiness? This has changed for me over the years and I do think it comes from age and experience.

I've spent 25 years in Software sales and have made a good living. I've enjoyed it and I've enjoyed the relationships I've made during my career. However....it's not really what has brought me Joy and Happiness. Now, don't get me wrong...it is nice and rewarding to be on the positive side of a quota but it's temporary.

I look to my family. I have 3 kids that are close. They've had their times but they actually love each other. They keep in touch and are a mess to be around when they're together. The joy of laughter and jokes make my heart swell. I love how they tell each other "Love you" when they leave each other or how they seek times to be together. THIS is a blessing.

I've also been married for 26 years and I love how my wife and I still want to spend time together. Whether it's a walk, buying groceries, picking strawberries, pulling weeds in our yard, folding clothes, attending Church together or just taking a date to talk....it's a blessing.

I've spent so much time defining myself on the career advancements I've made. I look at what is truly important and think....MAN, how could I ask for anything more. You can have all the riches in the world but be lost and lonely...and you've missed out. I can be poor but rich in the love of Christ and family which brings comfort.

Tonight - take a minute to reflex on where you find joy and invest in that time. You will not be disappointed.
