Happy New Year everyone! This is my final update to my 2024 goals. I succeeded in some of my goals, while also making good progress in some of my other goals.
Continue reading below for my final update to my 2024 goals and I'll share my 2025 goals tomorrow.
1) Personal Development Goals
For my personal development goals, I want to challenge myself to do new things and continue to grow!
a)?(DONE, 10,000 minutes) Exercise for 10,000 minutes on Peloton (excluding walking)
For 2024, I want to focus on more active exercising through Peloton. I set a goal of 10,000 minutes on Peloton excluding walking classes. This means that I will need to do strength training, cycling, or running for at least 30 minutes every day.
I barely reached my goal of 10,000 minutes. I had to work out for 45+ minutes each of the last 5 days of the year to reach my goal. Here's a graph of my total workout minutes compared to the pace I needed to follow.
You can see I fell behind from Mid-February through mid-April where I took 3 separate weeks off from working out while I was out of town.
My pace slowed down again when I spent a week in Maui for my wedding anniversary in September and dog-sitting for my brother-in-law in mid-October.
I knew this goal was going to be a challenge and taking multiple days off in a row affected my pace. I will be setting this same goal for next year as well!
b) (NOT MET: 9 pounds) Lose 15 pounds from 188.5 lbs
In 2024, I had a goal to lose 15 pounds from 188.5 lbs, which is the heaviest I have been.
At the end of this year, I am at 179.5 pounds, which meant I lost 9 pounds from my heaviest weight. Even though I did not meet my goal, I am proud that I am back to a weight that I want to be at.
Here's a graph of my weight throughout the year.
You can see a downward trend in January where I lost 5 pounds from my peak. From mid-April to September, I went from 185.7 pounds to my lowest weight of the year of 175.3 pounds.
From there, my weight started going up again in September with celebrating my birthday weekend, my brother's wedding, and my wedding anniversary for a week. After that, My weight stabilized around 180 pounds for the rest of the year.
Next year, I will continue to monitor my weight and be more watchful for these upward trends in weight!
c)?(NOT MET): 1 out of 10 paid coaching clients and 1 out of 4 paid speaking opportunities
For 2024, I want to double the number of paid coaching clients as well as the number of paid presentations from 2023. Unfortunately, I had fewer coaching clients and paid presentations than I wanted.
However, I had 10 different speaking opportunities. I presented at several events for Applied Materials to middle school and college students, as well as new hires. I did presentations at San Jose State and University of Nevada, Reno.
But, my favorite speaking opportunity was being the officiant for my friend's wedding in June. It was an absolute honor officiating his wedding and being able to share some personal stories, while also making the guests laugh.
Here were my speaking opportunities in 2024:
2/8: MC for the Applied Materials Lunar New Year Festival
2/21: How to Build Confidence for Networking at San Jose State University

2/26: My Public Speaking and Content Creation journey for Theta Tau Rho Delta at University of Nevada, Reno

4/11: My Career Journey for the Applied Materials Momentum Fund.
6/16: Officiated my friend's wedding in San Diego
6/18: Presented on the ERG panel during New Hire orientation
8/6: My Smartsheet Journey at the Smartsheet User Group - San Francisco
8/9: Job Search Tips for the Recipes for Winning 2024 Conference
8/21: ERG panel for CITRIS students at Applied Materials
d)?(ONGOING): Learn Japanese (and then another language)
I spent the 1st 10 months of the year learning Japanese on Duolingo and then switched over to Korean for a couple weeks. Korean got too difficult, so I've been continuing with Spanish since mid-November. I just reached a 950 day streak and will continue to keep that going in 2025!
2) Professional Development Goals
a)?(ONGOING): Continue to learn in my job
In April 2024, I changed positions internally at Applied Materials and took on a more challenging and demanding role as a Technical Program Manager for the Dielectric Deposition Products business unit.
There was SO MUCH to learn about being a TPM, learning about the hardware and process side, working with various engineers, product marketers and product owners. On top of that, I was given 5 programs to lead.
As each month went by, I became more accustomed and comfortable in my job. I have confidence in myself and the teams I work with have confidence in me as well.
I look forward to hitting my 1 year mark and closing out some of my programs next year.
3) (DONE): Content Creation Goals
For 2024, to be more consistent with creating content on LinkedIn, I have been posting weekly tips for shy introverts to build confidence! After 52 posts and 100,000 views, here are my top 5 posts of the year:

2) Week 37: Celebrating my 33rd Birthday
