My Goals for 2021 (1st Update)

My Goals for 2021 (1st Update)

Happy New Year everyone!

This year, I want to get back to writing monthly articles about my goals for the year. This is my way of holding myself accountable to achieve my goals.

Below are my 3 goals for 2021 (and more to come later in the year). What are your goals for 2021? Share it in the comments!

1) #52WeekChallenge - Weekly LinkedIn Lives

After 3 years of doing a #52WeekChallenge of weekly LinkedIn videos, I am taking the next step and hosting a weekly LinkedIn Live in 2021!

In my 1st LinkedIn Live, I shared how to create S.M.A.R.T. goals and also shared my goals for 2021.

My overall goal with the weekly LinkedIn Lives is to continue to develop as a public speaker and put myself out there even more. By putting myself out there, more opportunities will come my way.

I have LinkedIn Live guests planned out through July. Let me know if you're interested in joining me on my LinkedIn Live series!

2) Learn a new language

I'm a big fan of learning new languages. I learned that people are more willing to open up to you and talk to you if you speak their native language.

Previously, I used Duolingo to learn Vietnamese in 2018 and I'm continuing to use Duolingo to review Vietnamese, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese.

Since August, I have been using Drops to learn Cantonese....to impress my girlfriend's mom. I'm on my way to completing the course sometime this year and then I will decide what next language to learn!

What language(s) are you learning or want to learn? Share in the comments!

3) Monthly fitness goals

I don't want to just focus on personal and professional goals. I also want to focus on my health as well. Instead of setting a fitness goal for the year, I want to break it down into monthly goals and every single month I will attempt a different fitness goal.

For January, my fitness goal is to hold a plank for 5 minutes. In my attempt on January 1st, I was able to hold it for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. But, I was shaking super hard the last 30 seconds. We'll see if I'm able to achieve this goal!

My rule for this challenge is to have only 1 attempt per day with a blind clock. This means I quit when I decide to quit. This makes it much more of a mental test!

What are your goals for 2021? What language(s) are you learning? What are your fitness and health goals for the year?
