My Flying Friend

My Flying Friend

While travelling back from Chennai to Pune, I met my aeroplane flying friend: the credit goes to Gaur Gopal Das Ji to be there with me ( as in his book “Life’s amazing secret” and a smile on my face which most of the people believe and I do believe is good to start any conversation.

That evening, somehow, I could see many professionals travelling from Chennai to Pune. Now how would I know they are professional, a simple thing, all the men were wearing black/dark blue trousers with shades of blue shirts- light blue, pale blue, dark blue, striped blue, white and blue, and all the blues; though it was a Thursday and I was having those Monday Blues seeing it all around the airport.

Well, had a great time observing all the shades of blue with yummilicious hot idli Sambhar and filter coffee without sugar; and calibrating (technical word in NLP – reading verbal and non-verbal cues), doing pacing and enjoying the crowd. The flight was delayed for 2 hours and I was completely fine as I was enjoying my time spending hours in pacing and learnings of human behaviour.

Finally, the boarding started and I picked up my laptop bag and another bag of books and started walking towards the queue. While walking towards the queue for boarding, the staff made simple arrangements to call upon the groups from 1-10 then 10-20 and then 20-30 and I was in my 20’s; though not age-wise, seat wise. Well, I started walking and move towards the boarding, while I was moving towards, I was pretty sure, now I am going to sleep and take rest as I have office tomorrow to attend and I would need mental and physical rest.

Walking towards my seat which was my son’s favourite window seat and two gentlemen, one looked young in a black t-shirt and one in the Monday blues – shirt and simple smile on his face – gave me great gesture to get up from the seat and allow me to go inside. Though being an entrepreneur girl inside me, took my book, my notepad, and my pen out of my bag, and packed my bag to keep it in the cabin. While I was doing so, I kept my book “Gaur Gopal Das- Life’s amazing secret” on my seat and was moving inside. The men in blue saw the book in my hand, and gently asked, Mam, if you don’t mind can I read this book, I smiled, and said, of course!

And the rapport build started. He was going through the book, and I started conversing with the men in black and I asked him, is there something happening today in Chennai, I saw more than 100 professionals and that too in the shades of Blue! He smiled and the men with book answered, No mam, not really, whenever I have travelled back to Chennai, I have seen so many blue guys boarding the flight to Pune at this time; and we all laughed together.

This started our conversation with laughter and he started asking me, “so you read such books often”. I smiled, and said yes, I love books on life!

I asked, what about you. There was a small silence. And then he said, yeah, actually, I started reading them after an incident in my life and it made me curious to know more.

I became curious, and he became comfortable to share his story and said: One fine day I was travelling with my friend for work and suddenly in the flight, I started sweating and shivering, he called up the air hostess, she gave me water and asked everything is fine and relax. And I could not relax throughout the flight. It was a few minutes left for the flight to land and the moment it landed, I and my friend rushed towards the doctor. The doctor gave some medicine and did all the check and found “nothing”. The doctor said you are absolutely fine, it must be stress. He answered, “but I had no stress at all.”

And he came back home and discussed the scenario with family. Families in our societies are quiet dramatic and sometimes they make a big balloon with small air too. And it became a big question mark, what happened to him?

He said, I was confused, and I went to a psychiatrist for a check-up and he prescribed me some medicines. I had these medicines, but it was only making me sleep whole day and night and I wasn’t able to do anything. I started feeling that I have lost everything and there is nothing left in my life now. And in a few days, going through online, I started knowing Sadhguru videos, Gaur Gopal Das videos and started following meditation and Yoga which helped me to recover some bit.

We all three were so engrossed in the story that the Air Hostess had to wait for giving us order and serving us hot food. The people at back and at the front who were awake were also hearing some low voices coming and we were awake at 12 midnight, tired not slept and going on with the story.

I had a milkshake and he took a sandwich for himself. The men in black t-shirt said “I am full” and we continued our story.

And he mentioned, “Until life shows us the different and difficult path, we do not believe in it. He mentioned, he heard someone talking about subconscious brain and universe, though he never believed and suddenly started reading and knowing more about it.” He said, “you know, I am an engineer, and everything has to be logical for us”, we don’t believe in these superficial things”.

And I smiled, and said, yeah, me too, I don’t believe in superficial things, and I believe we all are engineers in our brain and creating our programs – some programs which are created by self and some are forced choices or are also taken as we feel that we don’t have any other program to choose from.

He became interested and said, yeah, I also feel so, interesting, how our thoughts match!

I said, interesting, our thoughts match!

He said I would like to meet someone who can make me understand how we are running this and how can we change all this inside. Well, do you know someone? “I am still struggling to get over my anxiety.”

I said, well I might give you or maybe I can help you to understand how we make programs with a simple example. He smiled and I went on.

You did mention to me, that now also when you board the flight, you feel that nervousness which you felt that day; the anxiety, that it will happen again.

How do you know, what was it?

He answered because I have experienced it!

I said, hmm, our experiences are in a way they are being programmed, and the response is accordingly. You love cars, and when you start the engine, it creates a specific sound, isn’t? That’s a program which is fit in the car. The same way, our mind has programs based on experiences. So, how easily your experience in the context of flight has created a response of this so-called anxiety inside the brain.

And if I may ask you where it all gets started, “he said the moment the plane started moving and the anxiety in my heart started moving. I said, let’s play if you are ready to change it? He said, ok. (Till then, our rapport became very strong).today as I am talking to you.

I said, yeah, did you had it before you spoke to me?

He said yeah, I asked him to go back to the start, just before where it starts and replace much stronger feeling which he would like to have. He said I love hearing the sound of Om and enjoy. I said, “ok, hear the sound, magnify the sound and keep hearing.”

Now how will you remind yourself to hear this, and he said, “I will touch my heart and hear the sound again!”

I said, “Can you do it and test it.” And we tested it 5-6 times until I calibrated the anchor has completely set.

In this whole discussion, the man in the black t-shirt was influenced and asked what you do, I answered, “I play with the programs in the brain and create new programs just like you who create new automation in your car!” (as he shared that he is from automobile automation)

We all smiled and they asked my name and details to connect in future! And I learned that my flying friend could do swish so easily in a new way!

Cherishing this lovely experience and hoping to have more new flying friends to learn easily and naturally!
