My First Week...in my new job

I just completed my first week in my new job.
Having been made redundant last year, getting back to full time employment was very exciting. It reminded me of that feeling of going back to school after the summer holidays.
Having worked full time for the past twenty years, this was by far the longest period of time that I haven't gone to work each day.
I missed it; missed the feeling, the people, being in an office and even the commute (although the trains were still dreadful!). I know this feeling won't last, and work will start to feel normal again, but I feel privileged.
The first day is always particularly memorable - starting a little bit late, receiving your equipment, being taken out for lunch, shaking lots of hands and trying really hard to remember the names of everyone you meet.
I am looking forward to making a difference and am excited to be working for a company with a great purpose. What an honour to work for a business who care for 1000s of people and homes.
