[ My first tattoo ]
Roshan Ambler - Digital Marketing Practitioner
Hi, I’m Sam. Founder of @GoLeadDigital. I live and breathe digital marketing. I hope you enjoy my findings.
I got my first tattoo, and I love it. It represents my spiritual growth and my growth as a person.
The Idea:
1) Biblical phrase: Eli, Eli, Lema Sabachthani?
2) The question mark is inspired by Indian Larry logo
Tattooing Process:
So what comes to your mind when you think of your 1st tattoo ??
- Needles
- Pain
Well well well hang on !!
The above-mentioned things are just about 5% of the overall experience.
I was excited and nervous at the same time before entering the tattoo parlor.
My tattoo artist Mr. Yogesh from Sin City tattoos was awesome.
He’s just amazing. The way he welcomes his clients is just fantastic. I got a chance to learn a lot about art from him apart from getting an incredible tattoo.
The Thought Process:
I wanted the tattoo should somehow depict a part of my life, and the other point was that it should be one of its kind!
Point 1:
I guess it was in the early 2012–13, I stumbled upon the Indian Larry Facebook Page.
Indian Larry was a noted motorcycle builder and artist, stunt rider, and biker.
The more I started reading his story, his concept art, and his view, It was always inspiring to me.
Larry lived his art. There’s no doubt about it. His life was his art.
Having experienced and overcome many extreme tests in life, Indian Larry adopted the question mark as his life logo.
Point 2:
The Aramaic text, ‘Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani’ which is translated, “My God, my God, for what have you forsaken me?” from Matthew 27:46
It was one of the last sayings of Jesus on the cross during his crucifixion.
To feel forsaken by God, is one of the worst feelings in the world.
We have all had our moments. The need is critical, and God doesn’t seem to answer our prayers. Our loved one dies.
Tragedies happen that we cannot explain. Times when it seems that God has allowed evil to triumph over good.
Such was the case in the death of Jesus.
I read the bible three times the whole religious book, but I started understanding all those stories and quotes the latter in my life.
There was a time in my life. I used to question everything, my life, education system, society, family drama, type of friends, the importance of money, love, etc.
And it made me frustrated and angrier each day. I used to walk this earth that someone is going to get hurt and someone did — physically or emotionally.
But as the years have gone by, I now understand that I had to bear the guilt and punishment for all my sins.
As it was my sins which have separated me from receiving the grace of God.
People do keep asking me. Do you believe in God?
So to answer this, “Yeah, I do believe in God, I just had lost faith on the people he had created in his image.”
I don’t know anything in life. I take risks. I show up and go with the flow. I’m not a religious person, but I’m a very spiritual person.
This new tattoo will always remind me — Whatever will be, will be and life has to go on.
And, not to judge others and that revenge is not my job.
