My first LinkedIn Newsletter

My first LinkedIn Newsletter

Lately, there have been times when I've had thoughts about starting my newsletter.

I imagined this a few months ago, but life can get incredibly busy.

Days & months flew by, and now, I'm finally launching my LinkedIn newsletter.

I'm following my heart by committing to writing consistently. If you have love for writing, you’ll resonate with it.

Empowering Professionals Worldwide

Little did I know in 2020 that my idea to help professionals in stepping up in their career would reach more than 2 million people worldwide.

What fuels their passion?

The burning desire to excel in their careers, whether it's in their home country or overseas.

Recognized by Times of India: Global Demand for Skilled Professionals

I recently got featured on Times of India discussing Global demand for skilled professionals.

In 2023, the global job market is changing significantly. Europe, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and Dubai are actively recruiting global skilled professionals.

Leading global companies and startups recognize the value of international talent.

Navigating the International Job Market: Key Questions

As an international job seeker, where to start?

? Which country is the right choice?

? What industries are in high demand?

? What skills are most sought after?

? How to navigate work visas and cultural differences?

I have been fortunate enough to start my international career in 2014, serving multi-billion-dollar clients, and witnessing life's full circle as I launched my high-end coaching services in 2020.

Personal Branding: The Key to Successful International Hiring

To secure a position with a global recruiter, personal branding is paramount.

I cannot stress enough how important it is for you to present yourself as a personal brand.

Your story plays a significant role in shaping this brand, reflecting your journey, values, and aspirations.

The onus is on you to get an interview call.

You will have to play the Networking game (LinkedIn, in-person, or cold email).

You must be efficient in your search process and knock on enough doors.

Don’t get stuck wanting to work for big brands and established leaders.

Many global Unicorns & startups sponsor visas for international professionals & students.

And that too in every sector of the economy.

And these jobs are well paid and offer decent stability.

You need to establish that international recruiters are willing to talk to you, and you’ll handle the amazing global hiring journey ahead.

Matching Skills to Market: The Skill-Market Fit

Look at your available skills & determine whether they align with potential employer's requirements.

A couple of international interview calls won’t give you 100% success, but they will give you a better chance for success if you have the right skill-market fit.

If you possess potential, make this move.

Companies in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands work differently from Asian countries.

The process is more opaque due to strict regulations, compliance demands, governance structures, bureaucracy, data privacy rules, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Companies here tend to go deeper into your personality, your challenges, your experiences with your clients and the value you can offer to their organization whereas Indian employers tend to demand more technical.

International employers usually follow a similar pattern, often requesting a cover letter to understand your qualifications, motivations, and how you can contribute to their organization.

Here companies will typically give you a greater degree of freedom to express your background, skills & work experience through the screening session, allowing you to justify how your qualifications align with their requirements and corporate culture.

Craft the story of “Your Career”

Reflect on your career journey. What led you to pursue this path?

What you learned in each job that you decided to apply to your next?

Note down your career in chronological order while taking note of your internal considerations such as what behaviour, motivation, or attitude you liked and disliked about each job.

·???????? Reflect on the skills you have learned and how they have evolved over time.

·???????? Consider how you added value to your clients in each role.

·???????? Think about the pivotal moments and experiences that have shaped your career journey.

·???????? Explore key achievements and impactful projects.

·???????? Ponder on your professional challenges and how you overcame them.

·???????? Think about leadership and teamwork moments that impacted your career.

·???????? Reflect on industry changes, education, and certifications that impacted your career.

For example, switching from the US pension domain to the payments sector at a bank, I thrived in a flat organizational structure with clear reporting lines, wearing multiple hats to accomplish my tasks.

I excelled by adapting to new payment technologies and implementing innovative solutions that played a pivotal role in my achievements in this dynamic sector.

The constantly evolving payment systems required a deep understanding of emerging technologies, such as contactless payments, digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Fitbit Pay, Garmin Pay, and many other tap-and-pay options.

AI-driven fraud detection, and real-time transaction processing. My technical knowledge, coupled with strategic thinking and problem-solving, helped me improve processes, make payments more secure, and contribute to the bank's success.

Hard Work Pays Off: Real-World Success Stories

In CDA, I encounter incredible stories every day.

A professional smartly networked and secured a position at Amazon, Canada.

I know a 45-year-old expert from a non-technical background who obained German PR recently, defying those who believed it impossible at this age.

Then, in 2021, my very first CDA member interviewed at Volkswagen in Germany and was subsequently received an offer from a Netherlands-based employer.

Moments like these highlight the immense value of portfolios.

For instance, a Technical Project Manager, displayed his website portfolio, resulting in interview calls and job offers from Leaseweb, a top German company.

Conclusion:

As I launch my inaugural LinkedIn newsletter, I'm here to help you navigate the global job market. In each bi-weekly newsletter, you can look forward to:

?? Insights into the global job market.

?? Inspiring success stories from the CDA community.

?? Discover companies actively recruiting professionals in the global market.

?? Tips and insider insights to shine in the global job market.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Let's explore the world of job opportunities together.
