My First Job
This first is a little different than the others. My “Final Semester of Firsts” blog would be remiss if I failed to mention the biggest first yet. On October 31, 2022, I got my first job.?
I guess it’s not really my first job, that would be a Sale’s Representative at Martha Mae’s Emporium. When I was sixteen years old I began working there, and I couldn’t be more thankful for it. My time there taught me a lot — the most important thing being that I wanted to work with people one day.?
?I am proud to be the new Public Relations Administrator at SkyLine/SkyBest. I currently work part time as I finish up school, but I will begin full time in May, following graduation. A key aspect of this role is being in the community and working alongside others.?
While I have updated my LinkedIn profile, I haven’t had the chance to talk about how excited I truly am to be taking on this role.
I first began working at SkyLine as a Marketing Intern last summer. My team welcomed me from the start. Although eager to start senior year, it would be a lie to say I wasn’t disappointed to leave as August came.?
When the position opened, I was immediately interested, but I knew finishing school would be a challenge. I cannot express how thankful I am for everyone who helped make it work for me.?
May is going to be sad for a number of reasons. I already know there will be nothing like my time in Chapel Hill, and that hits hard; however, my excitement for this new role is equally as strong. These two emotions are not mutually exclusive. All the hard work and all my experiences at UNC-CH led to this point. Bring on the next chapter!?
