My first day AT WORK

Yesterday I had four physical meetings and three virtual classes to teach. It was a day that needed a good breakfast. I decided to spend the day in a place that can accommodate all my needs for such a hectic day. I went to AT WORK, the new business lounge in TWELVE (ex-Majjarah) in Zayed. I had a great breakfast with poached eggs and almond croissant fresh baked in-house, with their special blend of coffee, a real day-starter. I hooked up on their fast wifi and checked my mail before my first meeting in the lounge, a business-oriented salon with luxurious seating and all the right colors and setup. 

I had to be in a class by 10 am, so I moved into one of the closed meeting rooms and connected to the room's big screen. I taught two virtual classes back to back until 1 pm. My second meeting was waiting for me, and this time we had our meeting on one of the spacious free tables. We spread papers, opened laptops, and still had room for my second coffee and my guest’s orange juice and panini sandwich. My next appointment arrived, and the hostess seated him on the terrace while I wrapped up my meeting. I finished the meeting, but my guest wanted to stay and finish some work, so I left them and moved to the terrace to join my colleague. He tried a salad, and I can see that he enjoyed it so much. Our meeting went well thanks to the amazing fresh air and positive energy on the terrace.

I had to return to the closed meeting room to deliver my third online class and finished it around 5 pm, just in time for my last appointment, this time with three businesspeople about to start a new venture. They chose to meet on the terrace, and I cannot blame them. Two of them came from long distances after a long day, so we elected our pasta and salads from the wide variety offered. We talked business over lunch. An hour later, we topped our experience with four extraordinary cheesecakes with different sauces and four different kinds of coffee. We feasted over the business's progress, and the joy of the desserts as the soft jazz continued to set the mood in the background.

I finished my day at 7 pm feeling very satisfied at all ends. The day was productive, enjoyable, and very smooth. AT WORK taught me a new workstyle that I will embrace for a long time to come.
