My First 90 Days with Biolevel - Madison Hoover, Sales Intern

I’ve been with Biolevel - Microbial Soil Health Products since September 2024, and my internship has been an outstanding experience, allowing me to significantly expand on both my personal and professional skills. I have gained valuable experience in the biological industry while working alongside our company dealers including Product Development Manager Josh Seemann , and other industry experts and had the opportunity to build on my communication and technical skills.

I have joined ride-alongs to visit growers in the mid-west region of the United States. During these visits, I learned how to educate growers about Biolevel’s products while applying my technical skills in real-world settings. I gained a deeper understanding of how ReGenerator, a Biolevel Product can break down residue and release nutrients from crop residues back into the soil. In addition, I learned how to effectively communicate ReGenerator’s benefits by addressing specific grower needs. Now I’m gathering prospects for our products MaizeNP and PhosN, which are our seed treatment products designed to be convenient to growers and increase crop availability of N, P, and K.

One of the challenges I’ve overcome has been addressing the misunderstandings and concerns growers have about biological products. Many growers are unfamiliar with these types of products, and some have skepticism about their effectiveness. I have worked hard to provide clear, data-driven information that demonstrates the value of our products in enhancing their operations.

Learning to communicate effectively with customers has been one of my biggest takeaways. These communication skills have not only helped improve my sales skills, but have also enabled me to build stronger relationships and bring more value to growers’ operations.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the company culture at Biolevel. From day one, I’ve felt welcomed and supported by my team. Together, we are collaborative, with a strong emphasis on open communication and knowledge-sharing. There’s a genuine sense of team spirit and everyone is eager to help one another succeed, no matter their experience level or position in the company. Additionally I am impressed by how inclusive and innovative the work environment is, where fresh ideas and diverse perspectives are encouraged. This positive and dynamic culture has made it not only easy to learn but also enjoyable to contribute to the team’s goals.

I am looking forward to continuing to grow and foster relationships with Biolevel’s customers. I’m excited about building on these connections and engaging in positive interactions within the biological industry. Additionally, I’m eager to follow up with current customers and dealers as we begin to see the results from our new product, ReGenerator, in 2024. I’m confident that this product will bring valuable insights and strengthen our relationships as we support our customers’ success.
