My first 30 days as Chief Operating Officer

My first 30 days as Chief Operating Officer

January 1st started a new chapter for me as Chief Operating Officer of the Verizon Consumer Group. It’s been a pretty amazing start, not to mention, the most significant chapter in Verizon’s history.?

Of course, I immediately hit the ground running aligning on priorities with my team and ensuring we remain keenly focused on delivering for our customers. That means continuing to put our customers at the core of what we do by offering best in class customer experiences, tailored to their lifestyles, no matter how they engage with us. It also means assessing our business for opportunities to both simplify and strengthen while evolving the operating model to better position us to continue our quest for operational excellence. The goal is to exceed customer expectations with each interaction, and we will get there.?

Right out of the gate, our ULTRA news made waves. We now cover 100 million people in over 1,700 cities around the U.S. with 5G Ultra Wideband. And, we announced new plans that will give our customers more value than ever before to take advantage of the expanded network and a new internet solution that’s unmatched in the marketplace. Introducing this radical combination of offerings that address customer pain points both in their homes and on the go has been one of the most exhilarating moments of my 22 years with Verizon. Our expanded network, personalized plans and home internet value proposition position us to achieve our goal of being the home internet provider for America.?

As my first 30 days come to a close, I’ve been enjoying one of my favorite activities - being out in the field with the #VTeam.? I connected with retail employees across the country along with some of our newest colleagues at TracFone while on a trip to South Florida. And I met virtually with many of our Consumer Group VTeamers to hear what’s on their minds and chart a path forward, together. I am so energized by these interactions and inspired by the employees’ readiness and hunger to take Verizon to the next level.?

While reflecting on these last 30 days, I am reminded how quickly time passes yet how impactful it can be if your focus is appropriately directed. Certainly we have work to do, but I know we can and we will achieve what we set out to do if we keep our eye on the ball. Bring it on 2022 - I’m ready!?
