My first 14 years at TwoScots...

The first 14 years at TwoScots have been a whirlwind. Jeremy and I, closely followed by Bree, embarked on this journey with a shared vision…to create a brand and a business that people want to work with and work for.?

My passion and focus has always been on cultivating and maintaining fantastic client and candidate relationships, and introducing people, while Jeremy's passion is the day to day internal operations. Simply put, I focus on the ‘working with’ TS and Jeremy’s focus is on the ‘working for’ TS.

Although I've been in recruitment now for over 25 years and running TwoScots for over 14 years, my enthusiasm has only grown stronger over time. From the initial challenges of establishing ourselves to our current position as a highly regarded business within the recruitment industry, with a rapidly expanding team, it's been incredibly rewarding to reflect on the strategies that have fuelled our success.

Initially, I wore many hats; recruitment, relationship building, managing teams, internal payroll, temp payroll, accounting, tax compliance, events, making the tea, watering the plants and really everything you can imagine. However, as TwoScots has grown, so have all our teams and our roles.?

This allows me to dedicate much of my time to what I love most - fostering strong connections, meeting with existing clients, pitching and winning new work, ensuring outstanding delivery with all our clients, and introducing good people to good people.

The joy and satisfaction of witnessing TwoScots' footprint expand, across all our divisions predominantly in Melbourne, however also now interstate, is a constant motivator, while also receiving feedback that candidates and clients have loved working with us and are constantly referring us to their network.

But recruitment isn't just about numbers and deals. Having spent over a quarter-century in this dynamic industry both in Australia and the UK, I've learned the importance of fostering genuine connections. Building relationships goes beyond spreadsheets - it's about shared experiences, laughter, and most importantly, building trust.

Last week I hosted our annual 10th TwoScots Annual Golf Day which again, was filled with both long-term clients that have now become friends and new clients who are now partnering with us. Most importantly a great atmosphere and a highly successful day was had by everyone - even though my golf swing hasn't improved over the years thankfully our partnerships have.

TwoScots is a company where the heart of recruitment beats strong. Every interaction with a client or a candidate is an opportunity to forge a lasting bond and we never forget we started from (Jeremy’s spare bedroom 14 years ago)!

As we gear up for FY25, we are excited about our continued growth, fostering a positive and collaborative environment and many ongoing and new partnerships, and never losing sight of the face-to-face human element in recruitment.

If it’s career advice, looking to recruit within your team or a cheeky 9 holes, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Congratulations! What a wonderful achievement. ??????
