My first 10 years is only the beginning!

It's December 1, 2020....10 years ago today I made a decision to change the path of my career and everything I thought I was working towards. I solely made this decision based on one of my best friends Robert Parsons and put this entire journey and my future in his hands. I decided I was going to work for an AV integrator named Taurus Technologies and dive in to an Industry I truly knew basically nothing about. While I thought I knew a little about AV, I learned really really quickly that I knew nothing! I spent my first complete year in the field learning from some of the best AV engineers in the industry! Some hard lessons were learned and a lot of hard work was complete but it ultimately put me in the absolute best position to succeed. I wouldn’t go back and take away that experience and knowledge for anything! After that year of training in the field, it was now time to start selling! It was tough but I was determined to get out there and find my own business and network as much as I possibly could. Building that network and business takes some time and luckily I worked for the right guys. I am not the type of person that ever wants to be or wants to be perceived as any type of “sleazy used car” or pressuring salesperson. (Sorry to my car buddies, you know what I mean). I wanted to be the guy that is seen as a partner and wants to do the right thing for a customer. I want to sell in a manner that I would like to be sold to and sometimes when you work for a company that sales is what keeps the business rolling, you don’t always have the support to be this way. I found out EARLY, EARLY, in my time at Taurus Technologies that I was working for two owners, Kevin Langham and Aaron Cooper, who shared my beliefs and are the two guys that will tell you all day every day to simply do the right thing and its not always about the bottom dollar. I have now come to the realization that I am working for the 2 best owners in the AV Industry! With this backbone of support and team that I’m able to work with, I have been fortunate enough to have my single best year as well as the single best year in Taurus history all while battling this pandemic. I will eclipse $7.5 million in sales and am pushing to break the $8 million mark which is a feat that I never dreamed of when I started this journey. I truly, truly, believe that the team that Taurus has surrounded me with is simply the best there is. I can’t possibly list out everyone that has been able to help me this year but my #1 and my guy is Mr. Chad Meacham, the best damn Design Engineer around! I believe the team that we have built and the year that we have had lands us as one of the absolute elite AV Integration teams in DFW/Texas and beyond and what it all comes down to is a very simple statement, “Do the right thing”.

What I hope has come across in this message is how much I am thankful for Taurus Technologies, Aaron Cooper & Kevin Langham and especially Robert Parsons. I put my future in your hands and couldn’t be happier. Robert Parsons, you are absolutely the best boss, teacher, influence, and above all, one of my best friends in the entire world. You are an inspiration, sir!

For every customer/partner that has given me the opportunity to earn your business, I truly appreciate every one of you and am extremely happy to call the majority of you friend, rather than “customer”.

To the AV Industry as a whole, Thank you for everything you have given me and for those that don’t know who Taurus Technologies is…..YOU WILL!!!!
